This week was my last full week in Japan. Time has gone by really fast! Its been a really good week so far (although, yesterday I was planning to go for a day visit to Kamakura but it was really rainy so I decided to postpone it, maybe I'll go tomorrow or over the weekend if it's not wet...) Over the weekend I ended up doing lots of stuff including visiting the national museum in Ueno, going to a festival, drinking in one of those tiny little bars in Golden gai in Shinjuku and going to Shibuya to the all-you-can-eat sweets buffet place. It was really fun!
On Tuesday we went to Tokyo Dome to watch some baseball. I've never seen any baseball before (we don't play baseball in England) but some friends were going and they invited me to come too so I thought it would be fun to go and try it out watching some. Actually, it was really fun! One of the guys explained the rules to me and by the end I got really into it. Baseball is kinda cool.
Tonight is the last night in Tokyo for some of the other med students I've been spending time with so we're planning to go out and celebrate. We heard about a cool-sounding bar themed like a prison hospital in Shibuya so we want to try it out. We tried to go a couple of weeks ago but we couldn't find it cos we didn't have a good map, but this time we know the way so it should be ok I hope... Also we want to do some bowling or karaoke afterwards. I'm really looking forward to it!
Talking of hilarious signs, I saw this one in a toilet a few days ago...it made my laugh when I saw it.
Would anyone really try to squat on a toilet seat?
It seems elephants are not allowed to visit Shinjuku. Poor elephants. What if they want to go shopping?
(yes, I know its really a 'no litter' sign, but seriously, why an elephant?!)
