スモーキー・ロビンソン6年ぶり新作『ガズムズ』発表～インタヴューなども続々露出
【Smokey Robinson’s New Album “Gasms” Make Some Controversy】
6年ぶり。
モータウンのヴェテラン・シンガー、スモーキー・ロビンソンが新作『ガズムズ』を出したが、そのタイトルから、論議を巻き起こしている。この新作は、２０１７年のクリスマス・アルバム、全曲オリジナルとしては２００９年の『タイム・フライズ～』以来のもの。
アルバムは９曲入り、2023年4月28日発売。『ガズムズ』は、「オーガズム」（絶頂感、快感）などからきているが、かつてジョニー・テイラーには『イアーガズム』（耳の快感を得る）というアルバムがあった。

これにあわせ、大量のインタヴューが露出している。そのいくつかをピックアップ。
クレジットによると、ドラムスにリッキー・ロウソンの名前があるが、リッキーは2013年に逝去しているので、ここ10年以上におよぶレコーディングの中からのコレクションのようだ。
下記ビルボードのインタヴューでも答えているが、ここ数年、いろいろと曲をため込んでいて、ひとつのキーワード（今回は「ガズムズ」）で録音した曲から集めるというやり方のようだ。もちろん、新曲も録音している。
また、この中で、「自分の曲はどんどんサンプリングしてくれ。ソングライターとしての誇りだ」とも言っている。
スペイン語のアルバムを作る旨、発表していたが、製作中で、２曲が完成したという。
