Al Cohn と Zoot Sims のコンビによるアルバムを３枚続けて紹介します。

本当は Al Cohn - Zoot Sims の共同だと思うのですが、この３枚は Al Cohn のアルバムとして

紹介しようと思います。

 

Al Cohn も Zoot Sims と同じく、「非バップ派」（...と言い切ってしまおう）のスタイルで

演奏する「スウィンガー」であり、その意味で Zoot Sims との聴き分けはとても難しいです。

以前も似たようなことを書きましたが、トーンとフレーズで Al Cohn と Zoot Sims を

区別できる方は相当なベテランだと思います。

 

日本語解説書にソロオーダーが記載されているため、それをここに記載しようと思います。

おそらく原文ライナーには書いてあるのでしょう。

（ただテナー以外の楽器は聴けばわかるため割愛します。）

ただモノラル録音なので、正直、どちらなのか分からなくなる場面もあります。

 

上に「非バップ派」と書きましたが、まさにその通りで、「モダン・スウィング」と

呼んであげたいです。モダンジャズは「ハードバップ」ばかりではない...と思うのです。
