本作は Warne Marsh が Atlantic レコードへ1957,58年に制作したアルバムです。
ピアノ入りの 1,3曲目が 1957年12月の録音、残りのトリオ編成は 1958年1月の録音だそうです。

#1 「Too Close for Comfort」 が演奏途中から唐突に入ってきて、終わりもフェードアウトしてしまったり
#6 「Excerpt」 が Warne Marsh のソロのみの抜粋であるなど細かい不満点があります。
演奏時間がLP盤の片面時間数の限界ではないのにこのようなことをしたのはちょっと不可解です。

しかし欠点はありますが Warne Marsh の優しいトーンは本盤でも健在で、

時間を忘れさせてくれます。
