今日の学校で習わない英語は
i.e.とe.g.です。
これは外資系で働いているとメールのやりとりで良く
出てきます。
語源はラテン語です。
i.e.はid estの略で、in other words（言い換えると）と言う意味で使われます。
I've got a cancellation from this customer. i.d. the event won't happen.
このお客様からキャンセルが出てしまった。なのでイベントは中止になります。
e.g.はexempli gratiaの略で、for example（例えば）と言う意味で使われます。
The flight got cancelled. We need to find an alternative way to travel. i.e. Bus, Car, Train...
フライトがキャンセルになった。別の手段を考えないといけないね。例えば、バス、車、電車とか。
知っていると便利な略語です。
