「何で今さら」と言われながら渡米し、あっという間に今年で15年となります。「日本のBachelor持ってるのに何でまた」と言われながらもNYCで働きながら2つの大学に行き、そして「何を今さら」とまた言われながらCPAの受験勉強中であります。独学でのCPA受験勉強苦戦ぶりを記録するために始めたブログですが、5年越しの激しい腰痛による闘病（？）グチや、大好きなウエイトトレーニングやアヌサラヨガのこと、うちの愛しいBabyニャンのこと、そして、NYでの生活の中で感じたことも綴っています。

ただいま長期のお休みです。
5年目になる腰からくるPiriformisの痛みとそれによるストレスの治療に専念中です。よって、CPA勉強もブログもお休みですが、治り次第戻ります。

DCにも行けないし、勤務中でTVも見れないけれどThanks for the Internet、Inaugurationの様子はNBCのLive-videoで見ることが出来ました。(ネットはいいのか、って話あるけど、ほれhistorical momentだしっ)
Hey Obama messed up with the line とうちの相方Honeyは電話して来たけど、今のところ私の中では彼が何やっても？！許されてるから、That's kinda cuteと思うわけ、です。

Michelleはクリーム色の素敵なドレスを着てますね。Isabel ToledoというNYのデザイナーの仕立てらしいです。アメリカの中でもNYは特にEthnicsが混在している街、そういう意味でアメリカのアメリカらしい部分をいちばん持ってる（ハズ）。Toledo曰く、「このドレスを作っていく過程には、Chinese、Polish、Spanishと皆なが関ったの」と。クリスマス返上で作成したみたい。Michelleは背も高くてスラッとしてるから何でも着こなせる。さっそくNYTimesに載るくらいです。

Eve of Inauguration
この日曜日はInauguration前ということでWashington D.C.でイベントがありました。
私はLaundryしてたり夕飯作ってたりしてたので所々見逃してしまったけど、いい感じのイベントでした。歌手、俳優、タレント、スポーツ選手、と幅広くいろんな人が集まって祝う雰囲気が、Obamaの人柄そのままみたいでした。
あの寒い中、ものすごい数の人が集まってて（私は思わずトイレは大丈夫？と変な心配までしてしまったよ。）その人気を物語ってましたね。
Inauguration直前で、今日はMLKだし、もう、超大盛り上がりです。
黒人のお父さんがインタビューで言ってました。「今まで、子供たちには”白人のように（負けないように）頑張りなさい”と言って来たけれど、これからは”Obamaのように頑張りなさい”と言える。（黒人にとって）Role Modelになる人がやっと現れた」と。もう一人の60代の黒人女性は、電車に乗っていて暴れてマナーのない数人の小学生と車両を同じくした時の話をしてました。彼女は子供たちを見て、困ったものだな、注意しなくちゃと思っていたら、彼らの一人が「おい、俺らもPresidentialに（Obamaみたいに）行動しなくちゃ」と言出だして、急に皆静かに大人しくなったそうです。電車を降りるときも「Presidentっぽく降りようぜ」と。
それにしても、Brack Obamaの笑顔は良いですね。とても魅力的な笑顔だと思います。
先ほどDCのColidge Senior High SchoolをVisitしてるオバマとミッシェルの様子がテレビに映されてました。Community Servicesをしてる人々をSurprise visitしていたようですが、テーブル一つ一つを回って手を振ったり握手するだけでなく、時間をとって一人一人に話しかけていました。MSNBCではコメンテーターの話がバックにあってオバマの声は聞こえなかったのですが、C-Spanは解説なしで映像と音を流してるだけなので編集されてない分音声は悪いのですが、逆にオバマやミッシェルの声が聞こえてきます。その様子を見て、Obamaという人は、人とのコミュニケーションを大切にする人なんだなと改めて思いました。(well, that's politician though)
DC、明日は雪がちらつくそうです。NYも先ほどから降り始めて、溶けかかった氷の上にまた積もっています。あまり寒くならないといいですね。
Historic moment
What a substance election.
Sen. Obama got elected as a President,
receiving a larger share of the popular vote than ever.
"It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date of this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America."
This is a historical moment.
You feel you are making history.
You are a part of history.
At a concession speech last night, Sen. McCain looked so brave and so John McCain himself.
You know what I mean?
During the campaig, whatever he said did not sound what he meant and he did not look like John McCain. But his words at the concession speech, finally, I felt he reached me. He looks like real John McCain. His passion, personality, and love to the nation were in his words. He said the failure was his and thanked to alin and all the supporters. He pledged his support to Barack Obama. That's John McCain.
It is just a beginning of change, but it's a huge first step. Imagine, just only 40 years ago, your grandfathers were arrested to sit at a diner restaurant due to your skin color. You were not allowed to be in the public areas where the white people hanged out. Just 40 years ago, people were murdered just because of the color of your skin. Now the African-American was elected.
