第一石碑の注釈

The stelae are purported to have been erected by Kamose himself(cf. the end of the second stela(http://nefertiti.iwebland.com/kamose_inscription.htm#end ).

石碑はKamose自身によって建てられたといわれている(第2石碑参照)

The inscription of the first stela begins with the full pharaonic titulary (http://nefertiti.iwebland.com/administration/pharaoh.htm ) :Horus name, Two Ladies name, Golden Horus, the king's name and the given name.

第1石碑の碑文は完全なファラオ的肩書きで始まっている：ホルス名、2貴婦人名、金のホルス(名)、王名、自身の名前。

長い間、７３．０ｋｇの壁、突破できないでいたけど、この間02/08/2009に７２．８ｋｇ、なりました～♪♪♪

ただ、コレにはおまけもあって、

すぐに体調をくずして（風邪、ひいちまって）、

んで、体調を戻すためにばくばく食ってたら、

１時期７５Kg越えをしてしまいました・・・（T△T）。

'Bad news is in your town: you are driven back in the presence of your army, and your authority is restricted - in as much as you, in your capacity as suzerain, have made me a chief - so that (now) you must (even) beg for the block where you shall fall. Look behind you! my troops are a threat behind you. The mistresses of Avaris shall not conceive, their hearts shall not budge in the midst of their bodies, when the war-whoop of my troop is heard!

｢そなた達の町とって、悪しき報せがある。そなたらは自身の軍の前で追い返され、そなたらが私をカシラとなした為に、そなたらの官憲はそなたらと同様に、宗主としての資格を限定される。その結果、そなたらは死に場所を請うことすらせねばならぬ。背後に気をつけよ！我が軍はそなたらの背後を脅かす。Avarisの女主人は、我が軍の鬨の声が聞こえる時、考えることも出来ず、彼らの心臓は彼らの体の中心で止まってしまうだろう(動こうとはしないだろう)。

I put the fleet (already) equipped in order, one behind the other, in order that I might take the lead, setting the course, with my braves, flying over the river as does a falcon, my flag-ship of gold at their head, something like a divine being at their front. I made the might transport boat beach at the edge of the cultivation, with the fleet behind it, as the sparrow-hawk uproots (plants) upon the flats of Avaris!

肥満度も０になったし、

体重が減らなくなったしで、

とりあえず、ダイエット、一旦、終わりにしようと思います。

でも、やることは、今迄と変えません。

ウォーキングも今迄どおりするし、

ベリー・ダンスも続ける。

体重計に毎日のるし、

ブログには週の最大体重と最小体重を乗せます。

ただ、これらのことをした結果やせるコトを期待しないだけです。

ん～・・・。

でも、ダイエット、あきらめてからの方が、体重、安定してきてるんだよなぁ～？？？

←英語では王様のコトをＰｒｉｎｃｅとも呼ぶので、この場合は王様と解釈しました。

So king Apophis, L.P.H., adopted Seth for himself as lord, and he refused to serve any god that was in the entire land ex[cept] Seth. で、Ａｐｏｐｈｉｓ王は(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)、セト神を自身の為に神として信奉し、セト神以外の全国土のいかなる神にも仕えることを拒んだ。

adopt＋宗教の場合は、○○を信奉するとか信仰するって訳になることも多いです。

カレは、Ａｐｏｐｈｉｓ王の館の隣に、永久にとみごとな出来栄えの神殿を建て、宮殿の高官達は(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)宮殿(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)、Ｐｒｅ－Ｈｒａｋｈｔｅ(ラー・ホルアクティ)の神殿できっっちりと行われているように花輪を持っていった一方、カレはセトに毎日のように・・・、いけにえを捧げる為に夜明けに現れた。

Now as for king A[pophis], L.P.H., it was his wish to s[end] an inflammatory message (to) King Sekenenre, [L.P.H., the] Prince of the Southern City. And a[fter] many days following this, Knig [Apophis, L.P.H.], then had [the high official]s of his [palace] summoned, [and he proposed to them that a messenger should be] sent [to the Prince of the Southern City with] a complaint...[concerning the]river, [but he was unabled to compose it himself.

今やＡｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)について言えば、南の都市の王たるＳｅｋｅｎｅｎｒｅ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)に煽動的なメッセージ(声明？使者)を送るのはカレの望みだった。そしてコレに続く何日ものあと、Ａｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)は、カレの宮殿の高官たちを召還して、南の都市の王に、けれど彼自身(南の王自身)では収められない河に関する訴えを携えた使者を送ることを提案した。

←concerningやregardingはaboutの代わりに文語で良く使われる表現です。

[Thereupon his] scribes and wise men... and high officials [said; ' O so]verign, [our lord, demand that there be a withdrawal from the] canal of hippopotamuses [which lies at the east of teh City because they don't let [sleep come to us either in the daytime or at ni]ght, [for the noise of them is (in) our citizens' ear(s).'

そこでカレの書記達や賢者達・・・そして高官達は言った。｢おお、我らの主たる支配者よ、カバ達を『都市』の東にある運河より立ち去る様に命じたまえ。何故なら、彼らの騒音が我らの市民の耳にありて、昼に夜に眠りが我らのもとに来させぬのです｣と。

コレは多分、the canal of hippopotamusesではなくて、withdrawal from the canalとwithdrawal of hippopotamusesの混合型だと、おもうんだけど？？？(自信ない(笑)☆)

not＋動詞＋eitherＡorＢの場合は、ＡもＢもダメってニュアンスです。

And King Apophis, L.P.H., answered them saying. 'I shall send to the Prince of the [Southern Ci]ty... command... [that we may assess the power of the goｄ who is] with him as protector. He does not rely upon any god that is in the [entire land] except Amun-Re, King of the Gods.'

Ａｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)の使者が南の都市の王に到着した時、彼は南の都市の王の面前に引き出された。そこであるモノ(Ｓｅｋｅｎｅｎｒｅ)はＡｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)の使節に言った。｢なにゆえこの南の街に送られた？　なぜにこちらに旅してこられた？｣と。

take into○○で、通されるとか連れてこられるみたいなニュアンス？

The messenger then told him: 'It is King Apophis, L.P.H., who has sent (me) to you in order to say, 'Let there be a w[ithdrawa]l from the canal of hippopotamuses which lies at the east of the City, because they don't let sleep come to me either in the daytime or at night, 'for the nosie of them is (in) his citiznes's ear(s).'

使者はその時彼に言った。｢＜街の東にある運河からカバを立ち退かせよ｣と貴方に言うようにと私を遣わしたのはＡｐｏｐｈｉｓ王である。なぜならば、彼等の騒音がカレの市民の耳にありて、彼ら(カバ)は昼も夜も眠りがわれを訪ずれさせぬからだ｣

←このdon't let sleep come to meは、先述のように＜眠りが私を訪れることをさせない＞だと思われます。

使役動詞のletを使っているコトと、sleepを擬人化して名詞として使ってるあたりが、ポイントでしょうか？！

Then the Prince of the Southern City became stupefied for so long a while that he became unable to render [a reply] to the messenger of King Apophis, L.P.H. Finally the Prince of the Southern City said to him: 'Is it throught this (remark) that your Lord, L.P.H., would investigate matters regarding [ the canal of hippopotamuses which lies at t]he east of the Southern City?'

で、南の都市の王は暫くＡｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)の使者に応えを与えることが出来なくなったほど驚天のあまりぼけーっとした。

for so long a whileはfor a whileを更に強調させるためにsoとlongをつけたように思われます。

漸う南の都市の王は彼に言った｢それは、この発言を通して、南の街の東にいるカバ達についてのコト(問題)を貴方の主(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)が調査したいというコトを、言っているのか？｣と。

remarkは言っていることや書いてあるコト、意見とか、そーいったニュアンスのモノです。

So the Prince of the Southern City had his high officials summoned, as well as every ranking soldier of his, and he repeated to them every issue concerning which King Apophis, L.P.H., had sent to him. Then they were uniformly silent for a long while, without being able to answer him, be it good or bad. Then King Apophis, L.P.H., sent to......

かくして南の都市の王は彼の高官を、彼の各上級軍人と共に召還し、彼らにＡｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)が彼に送った各問題について繰り返した。そこで彼らは、彼にイイともワルイとも答える事ができないので、そろって暫く沈黙した。で、Ａｐｏｐｈｉｓ王(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)は・・・に送った。

soも簡単なコトバなんだけど、和訳が難しいのよねぇ～・・・。(ので、テキトー(笑)☆)

as wellがtooと本来同じ意味なんで、as well asも時にそんなカンジで使われてます。

rankingって高級軍人って意味でも使われるコトバです。

This Egyptian story of the beginning of hostilities between the Hyksos and the rulers of Thebes is interesting for a number of reasons.

ヒクソスとテーベの支配者の間での戦闘の始まりについてのこのエジプトの物語は、色んな意味で興味深い。

It is openly tendentious in its description of the political state of the country ＜there was no Lord, L.P.H., as sole king), the economy under Hyksos rule ＜Misery was in the town of the Asiatics＞, and even of the Seth worship as something alien in its exclusivity (he refused to serve any god that was in the entire land ex[cept] Seth).

＜唯一の王としての支配者(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)がいなかった＞など、国の政治的状態や、

＜不幸はアジア人どもの町にあった＞とヒクソス支配下の経済、そして、＜セト神以外の全国土の神に仕えることを拒んだ＞と、その排他性において何か異質なものとしてセト信仰についてさえ、公然と偏った描写をしている。

On the other hand, Apepi is recognised as the dominant ruler in the country ＜the entire land paid tribute to him＞ and the behaviour of his officials, presumably Hyksos as well, is similar to that of the natives ＜the officials of the palace, L.P.H., carried garlands, exactly as is practiced in the temple of Pre-Harakhte＞.

一方、

Ａｐｅｐｉは、＜全ての国土が彼に貢物を捧げた＞など、国における有力な支配者として認識され、そして＜宮殿の(生き・栄え・健やかでありますように)の高官たちは、ラー・ホル・アクティの神殿でまさに行われているように花輪を捧げた＞とあるように、彼の高官たちの振る舞いは、多分Ｈｙｋｓｏｓと同様に、現地のソレと似ていたのである。

The blame for stirring up trouble is put on Apepi whose absurd complaint left the Thebans flabbergasted. Hippopotami were destructive, denagerous creatures. They were often hunted because of this, and　Apepi's accusation might be interpreted as an insult to Sekenenre by implying that he was incapable of upholding order in his realm, the chief duty of a ruler; or, conversely, if Sekenenre claimed that he did suppress the hippo population, he could be accused of insulting Seth, often symbolised by a hippo.

In the ensuing war Sekenenre Tao was killed in battle.
問題を起こしたコトへの非難は、テーベの市民を面食らわせた不条理な訴えを伝えたＡｐｅｐｉの所為にしている。カバは破壊的でキケンなイキモノであった。それらは、この為に能く狩られ、そして支配者の主なシゴトである、彼(Ｓｅｋｅｎｅｎｒｅ？)の王国で秩序を保つコトができないとほのめかすことによるＡｐｅｐｉの非難はＳｅｋｅｎｅｎｒｅへの侮辱と解されたかもしれない；でなければ、反対に、もしもＳｅｋｅｎｅｎｒｅがカバの集団を抑制できると主張するのなら、カバによって能く象徴されるセト神を侮辱したと非難されるであろう。

それに続く戦争により、Ｓｅｋｅｎｅｎｒｅ　Ｔａｏは戦闘中に殺された。
