Ahwakそれはアラビア語で「死ぬほど愛してる」という意味です。
20世紀のアラブ音楽界の、その黄金期を代表する大スター歌手、アブドゥルハリーム・ハーフィズ。
彼は貧しい環境に生まれ、１１歳のときに血液の病気か何かにかかってしまって、生涯その病気に苦しんで、４７歳のときに若くして亡くなったそうです。
その病気のせいで彼は生涯、女性と一線を越えることが出来なかったそうです。
もう一つ有名な話で、若い頃に愛する婚約者を失った悲しみが生涯癒える事がなく、その亡くなった婚約者に全ての楽曲を捧げたとも言われていますね。

だって、その位の人生観とピュアな恋心が無くてはこんなに美しい曲は作れない、歌えないと思うから。

美しく、狂おしいこの歌をいつか踊りたいとずっとずっと夢見ていたんです。
古い映画のワンシーンを見て、心を掴まれてしまった私。
私にとって大切な大切なその曲を先日のショーで初めてお披露目致しました。
ピアノ弾いてるのが多分アブデルハリムかな。
そして多分、後ろから登場する美しい人が親友の婚約者かなーと思います。

でも二人は惹かれあっている。

アラビア語から英語に翻訳された歌詞を見つけ出し、自分で歌詞を読み解いてみました。
振付ももちろん自分で考えました。
切ない恋心。
忘れてしまいたい。
でも愛してる。
忘れようとしても僕の涙がきみを覚えている。
何度も何度も繰り返し歌い上げています。
男性目線の歌詞だから、とても難しかった。
男性側、女性側、自分はどちらの立場から踊ったらいいのか悩んで考えました。
出した答えは
映画のワンシーンを見て震えた私自身の、恋心に忠実に私自身の目線、立場から踊ることにしたのです。
こう見えて私、切ない恋愛経験は売る程あるんだなー
そして、私が今までこの曲を踊れなかった理由があります。
どうやって身体を使ったら良いのかどうやって踊ったらいいのかわからなかった。

でも、情緒溢れる表現がずっと苦手分野でした。
しかし、この一年地道に身体改造をしてきて私はホント変わったのです

いや、私の専属トレーナーさん2人はしっかり分かって下さってます
そして今回のパフォーマンスの事を話したらとってもとっても喜んで下さいました

でも、私の持ち前の元気で明るく、エネルギッシュなダンスの方が好きって言ってくれる方の方が多いのでそれも嬉しいですし、私の持ち味なので大切にして行きます
