On Nov. 20 I went to Tatekawa Junior High School for my annual lecture to second year students.
１１月２０日毎年の２年生への講義の為に竪川中学校へ行って来ました。
Il 20 novembre sono andata alle medie Tatekawa per il consueto seminario annuale per gli studenti del secondo anno.
This year the audience was pretty diligent and there were some interesting questions.
In my lecture I generally talk about my work, the importance of studying/working having fun, mixing your interests with whatever you have to study/do, making a profession out of your passion[s], finding what you really want to do in life and to not get disheartened if it doesn't work - if you really don't know, just try and do many different things, so - chances are - you'll find something that suits you. This year I put particular emphasis on having the courage and the will to change things, which is essential for the future generations, for the survival - and flourishing - of the country.
Quest'anno il pubblico era parecchio diligente e ci sono state alcune domande interessanti.
Nelle mie lezioni di solito parlo del mio lavoro, dell'importanza di studiare/lavorare divertendosi, mischiando i tuoi hobby/interessi con cosa devi studiare/eseguire, trasformare le proprie passioni in professione, capire cio' che vuoi fare veramente nella vita e non scoraggiarti se non ci riesci - se proprio non lo sai, provare varie cose diverse e, con un po' di fortuna, c'e' caso che troverai quella giusta per te. Quest'anno ho messo particolare enfasi sull'avere il coraggio e la volonta' di cambiare le cose, che e' essenziale per le future generazioni, per la sopravvivenza - e la floridita' - del paese.
After the lecture all the students will write a short report saying what they learnt today and their impressions. it's always so exciting to read their letters!
Dopo la lezione tutti gli studenti scrivono un breve tema parlando di cos'hanno imparato oggi e esprimendo le loro impressioni. e' sempre un piacere leggere le loro lettere!
After the lecture the professors took me to the three classes to peek at the students writing the report, so I got to take part in some interesting conversation.
Dopo la lezione i professori mi hanno portato nelle tre classi per spiare gli studenti che scrivevano il temino, cosi' ho avuto occasione di prendere parte a qualche conversazione interessante.
But personally the most fun part is mingling with the students. Since I'm an eternal 14 year old, we have a lot in common as far as conversation subjects and perception in general. XD
I believe that the relationship between adults and children should be more equal. just because they're children they might be innocent, vulnerable and naive, but they're by no means stupid, so it's necessary to give them more space to think with their heads; listening to what they have to say, ask their opinion. We're both human beings - we need to respect each other and work together to understand one another.
We've all been kids; just remember how it felt like.
Ma per me la parte piu' divertente e' stare insieme agli studenti. dato che sono un'eterna quattordicenne, abbiamo parecchio in comune per quanto riguarda gli argomenti di conversazione e la percezione in generale. XD
Io sono fermamente convinta che le relazioni tra adulti e bambini debbano essere piu' paritarie. solo perche' sono bambini, puo' darsi che siano innocenti, vulnerabili e ingenui, ma non sono di certo stupidi, quindi e' necessario lasciargli lo spazio necessario per pensare con la propria testa; ascoltare cio' che dicono, chiedere la loro opinione. Siamo entrambi esseri umani; dobbiamo rispettarci a vicenda impegnarci insieme per capirci l'un l'altro.
Tutti siamo stati bambini; basta ricordarsi come ci sentivamo.
