Tochigi Prefecture is famous for its "Rice" (Gohan) day on all days with the numbers 5 or 8 in the date.
Rice is called Gohan in Japan, the numbers 5 (Go) and 8 (Hachi) were chosen because their pronunciation is similar to Gohan.
I highly recommend you try Tochigi's own brand of packed cooked Gohan called "Koshihikari"!
