東日本大震災の翌年の
2012年2月。
雪遊びをする少年が語った夢は、
「さんてつの運転手になりたい！」
でした。
あれから8年半
宮古駅で再会した あの少年は
大きな夢の第一歩を歩んでいました。
「お年寄りや困っている人を助けられるような
運転士になりたい」
あどけなさを残す笑顔で、はにかみながら語るその表情は、
もう立派な鉄道マンでした。
列車が出発するとき
佐々木翔太くんだけでなく
宮古駅のみなさんが
横断幕をかかげて見送ってくれたとき
目頭が熱くなりました。
写真を撮っていて良かった。
三陸鉄道に出会えて良かった。
心からそう感じました。
彼が運転士になれるのは再来年。
彼が運転する貸切列車で旅をするという
あらたな夢ができました。

It was the next year of Tohoku Earth quake in February in 2012,
a boy who were playing in the snow told his dream.
"I want to be a driver of Sanriku Railway!"
8 and half years has passed since that, the boy
whom I met again in Miyako Station took a big step toward his dream.
While smiling bashfully, he said to me
"I want to be a driver who can help old people and people in need."
He became a nice staff of Sanriku Railway.
When the train left the station, not only "the boy",
whose name was Shota Sasaki,but also every stuff members of Miyako Station hang out a banner.
I was moved to tears to see that.
I'm glad I kept taking photos.
I'm glad to meet Sanriku Railway.
I thought that with all my heart.
He can be a driver the year after next.
I made a new dream that we travel with a train which was driven by him.
