Hi, guys! How’s it going?
As I mentioned in my previous blog, I went to the East Coast for about two weeks. I visited primarily three cities: Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and New York! I’m going to share my experiences in East Coast, specifically Philadelphia and D.C.
こんにちは。前のブログにも書いたのですが、最近まで２週間ほど東海岸を旅行していました。行った場所は、ニューヨーク、フィラデルフィア、ワシントンDCです。この３つは、北から等間隔にバスで２～３時間ほどの場所に位置しています。だから、東海岸を訪れる際は、３つの全ての都市を旅行することもできます！２週間ほどあったら、十分楽しめるのではないかなと。
- Philadelphia
This city has a rich history and is known as one of the American Revolutionary Sites. There are a lot of historical places such as The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and so on.
I hope I was well informed about American history and this experience motivated me to study American history and Benjamin Franklin!
フィラデルフィアは、アメリカ独立宣言が行われた場所で、ベンジャミン・フランクリンの街とも言われています。アメリカ独立記念ホールや独立の鐘などがあり、まさに歴史のまちです！

Transportation
If you go to there, you should use Uber. It was not too expensive when you used the Uber car pool system. It cost about 2-3 bucks per person for one ride (of course it depends on the distance, but the cost was not bad).
For the bus, they are not punctual due to bad traffic jams, especially in the center of city. For the train, they are only for specific areas in Philadelphia, so you can’t get to the museum of art by train.
Therefore, I believe that the best and most effective way to move around in Philadelphia is by Uber.

Uberが一番おすすめです。１回につき１人あたり、２～３ドルほどなので、安くて便利です。行きたいところの目の前まで行けるし。バスもありますが、時間通りではないので、僕はあまり好きではないです。
全然時間通りに来なくて、めちゃめちゃ待った笑
My recommendation of where to go
・Museum of art
I’m not very familiar with art, but I found that the art spoke to me here. I joined one free tour for an hour. The guide showed us around with easy to understand and thorough explanations.
This museum has the steps immortalized by Sylvester Stallone’s triumphant run in the film “Rocky”. So many travelers imitated that scene where he ran on the steps.
・Reading Terminal Market
This market is the oldest market in the U.S and there are many restaurants and stores where you can get awesome food. Especially, you should enjoy the authentic Philly cheesesteak there. A cheesesteak sandwich consists of only two ingredients, thinly sliced steak and cheese (you can add onions).
行くべき場所
・フィラデルフィア美術館
正直、行く前までは、アートとか全然興味ないし、行くことにあまり乗り気ではなかったです。笑 でも、実際に行ってみると結構楽しくてアートの良さに気づくことが出来たような気がします。特に、無料の一時間程度のツアーに参加したのですが、ガイドさんの説明が分かりやすく、絵画の見方や時代背景なども楽しみながら理解することが出来たので、おすすめです！
・リーディングターミナルマーケット
アメリカで一番古いマーケットとして知られており、僕のイメージとしては、室内の商店街っていう感じを受けました。たくさんのレストランやお店がたくさんあり（主に食事系）、楽しかったです。特に、フィラデルフィアはチーズステーキというのが有名で、ここの場所では美味しいチーズステーキが食べることが出来ます。
チーズステーキとは、牛丼の上のお肉にチーズがトッピングされてたものがサンドイッチの中に挟まっている感じです。１～１０で評価すると４ぐらいかな。笑 結構低いね。笑 牛丼の方がうまいわ笑。最近は、特に日本のお米ロスです。笑

Philly Cheesesteak
- Washington D.C.
As everyone knows, this is the capital of the U.S. There is the U.S. capitol, the white house and a lot of museums. Speaking of museums, you can enter any museum for free.
皆さんご存じの通り、ここはアメリカの首都です。この地図見てもらえば分かるように、放射型と格子状が綺麗に混ざった都市計画がされている街です。この放射の中心には、ミスタートランプさんが住んでいるホワイトハウスがあったり、リンカーンの銅像があったり、数え切れないくらいの数の美術館があります。
Transportation
Uber is the best way to get around, like in Philadelphia. The cost is about the same as in Philadelphia I mentioned before.
交通手段
フィラデルフィアの時と同じで、Uberが一番安くて、便利な移動手段だと思います！
My recommendation of where to go
・The U.S. capitol
You can join a free tour and in the tour you can see inside of the U.S. capitol specifically.
・National air and space museum
I love aircrafts and planes, so I had so much fun there. At the museum, there were a lot of displays about aviation history that include: information about flight, how aviation affected the Two World Wars, and even man’s first step on the moon. This museum has something for everyone.
行くべき場所
・国会議事堂
国会議事堂の中に入るためには入念な荷物検査とボディーチェックを受けなくてはいけないです。でも、無料で中に入れるし、無料のツアーもあるので、結構楽しめました。ここにもたくさんの芸術作品が飾られていました。
・国立航空宇宙博物館
この美術館は、子供向けのなぜ飛行機は飛ぶのかといったブースから実際に第二次世界大戦で使われていたモデルの戦闘機のブースまであり、非常に楽しかったです。個人的に飛行機が好きなので、僕にとってはさらに楽しむことが出来ました。
