Finally, I was done with finals !! I was extremely stressed out and I am really happy to spend winter break with my friend.
I’m going to share with you my impressions of America and what I took from my first semester.
Before that, I’m so sorry that I didn’t update my blog for a long time!
Class
- Every student has a passion to study and also every teacher has a passion to teach.
- It was much more challenging to take classes in the U.S. than expected and also I might realize the joy of studying lol.
- The level of difficulty of exams are harder in Japan than in the U.S.. (Speaking of the class I took this semester, I mean, engineering class)
Life
- The U.S. has accustomed to handicap people , especially in California.
The reason I thought so
— Every bus has a space and machine to ride for people on wheelchairs .
— Every room in campus has one special chair and table for a handicapped person.
— Almost all building has a button to open the door for disabled person.
- Skate boards are so useful in terms of commuting around campus.
- People in Sacramento are so nice and kind; I love it!
- I have more opportunities to think through the social problem like gender, religion, racism and so on.
Just because there are a variety of people in the U.S. and my friends tend to talk about social issue even during daily life. In Japan, at least for me, there are less opportunities to talk about those stuffs with my friends because japan is a homogeneous country and doesn’t have especially religions.
- They don’t like McDonald’s so much just because there are tons of better fast food restaurant like In-n-Out, Wendy’s, Jack-in the Box, Carl’s Jr, and more in California.
These are my impressions. If you have any comments, let me know from Facebook's comment or something!
