先週、初めてシリコンバレーに行ってきました。僕のシリコンバレーのイメージは、高層ビルがたくさん並んでいて、人もたくさんいるイメージでした。
しかし、実際のシリコンバレーは、案外、閑散としていました。
ビルがめっちゃ並んでいると言うよりは、広大な土地に
アップルがぽつん。
車で１０ｋｍぐらいのどかな道を進んで、Google登場。
また車でちょっと進んで、NASAがドンと現れるって感じ。
要するに、シリコンバレーはめっちゃめっちゃ都会という感じではなく、市街から離れたところに展開されてるイメージ。今回、行ったのはSan Joseと呼ばれる街にある会社を回っていたので、シリコンバレーを全て観光できたとはとても言えませんが、、、笑
因みに、San Joseはサンフランシスコ湾の南に位置する街です。
かつ、日曜日に行ったので、人もたくさんいる訳でもなかったです。
他にも一般的にシリコンバレーと呼ばれる場所には、Intel, Facebook, Yahoo, Netflix, Tesla, Uber, Airbnb, Stanford Universityなど、世界的に知られている会社の本社や大学がたくさんあります。サンフランシスコに位置する会社とかはサンノゼ（San Jose）にある会社とはまた違った雰囲気なのだろなと思っています。
I was excited to see the big buildings, but I can only see the inside from the outside which I was not allowed in. I am curious to find out what is going on inside and how they contribute to our lives in the future.

今回は、友達とレンタカーを借りて、観光しました。San Joseはあまり公共交通機関が発達していないみたいなので、ぜひ観光する際はレンタカーを利用することをおすすめします。
I went to Silicon Valley.
Silicon Valley that is in the southern San Francisco Bay Area of California is home to many start-up and global technology companies such as Apple, Facebook and Google. And also Intel, Facebook, Yahoo, Netflix, Tesla, Uber and Airbnb of these main offices are located around Silicon Valley or San Francisco.
I went to Google, NASA, and Apple. These companies motivated me to study and admire the life in Silicon Valley.
