ニュースなどで知っている方もいるかも知れませんが、今、カリフォルニアでは史上最悪と言われている山火事が起こっています。カリフォルニアの気候は非常に乾燥しているため、一度山に火が付くと、一気に燃え広がり、火の勢いを抑えるのは、簡単なことではないです。
山火事が起こりやすいというのは、アメリカに来る前から知っていたのですが、今回の山火事がもたらす被害があまりにも深刻で、正直驚いています。
死者は最低でも29人、１００００棟以上の家が全焼してしまいました。今でも完全に火は消化されていません。
実際に目で燃えているところは見ていませんが、サクラメントの街中は煙がすごく、匂いもどこかしら焦げ臭いです。
今、大学では、煙がもたらす大気汚染の影響で大学が休講になってます。
休講とThanksgivingが重なって、１１月は１０日から２５日まで休みになり、テストも２つ延期、レポートの提出も延期。正直、嬉しいですが、Thanksgivingの後を考えると怖いです笑。

僕が住んでいるサクラメントはhazardousで、危険な状態でした。

Today there was no class due to poor air quality, that means, we got no class for 7 days in a row from Saturday to Friday. According to the news this fire, aka Camp Fire, is the most destructive fire ever; at least 29 people were confirmed dead in the wildfire that turned the Northern California town of Paradise and outlying areas into hell on earth, equaling the deadliest blaze in state history.
Although there have not been any fires in the Sacramento area, the smoke from Paradise has drifted towards us and affected the air quality. You can smell the smoke on your clothes after being outside for a little bit.
I have no idea that Camp Fire was so huge in power to kill ones life until this fire occurs.
It is so heartbreaking and I hope this will problem will be solved quickly and everyone is safe.
Of course, I am kind of happy that there is no class because I can chill and do homework.
