Steamed （蒸される）

日本は台風だったそうですが、こちらは二つの高気圧の間に詰まったハワイ諸島。その為に貿易風が全く止んでしまいました。暑くて暑くて・・・仕事場ではエアコンが効いているので問題は無いのですが、家では本当に地獄ですよ。	I hear Japan had a major typhoon recently, but the Hawaiian island chain is caught between two high pressure areas. Because of this, the trade winds have stopped completely. It's so hot and humid. At least there's air conditioning at work, so there's no problem, but at home, it's just hell.
そう言う訳で今夜は妻子寝た後良く冷えたビールを飲んでみましたが・・・体質なのか、汗が出てしまって、帰って逆効果でした。プチ酔ったかな？（息子が生まれてからあまり飲んでいない）暑いよ～	Because of that, I thought I'd have a nice cool beer after my wife and son went to sleep. I don't know if it's just my body, but I'm all sweaty, and it seems to have backfired. Maybe I'm buzzing a little? (I haven't really drank much since my son was born). Oh man, it's so hot...

Layers （複数層）

今日は仕事とかが忙しかったものの、やる気があまり出ませんでした。そこで「部屋に行く」をポチっと。	Despite the fact that I was busy with work today, I didn't have the motivation for it. So, from the Ameba top page, I clicked the "go to your room" link.
アラフォーへ遊びに行って楽しくチャットしちゃいました。	I ended up happily chatting at the "Around 40" area.
最初は２人しか居ない場所でしたが、サザエさんとか猫プリンとかで盛り上がって最初から居た真ん中に居るねこまるさんと右端のＴＯＭ（Ｂ）ＳＴＯＮＥさんとピグともになりました。	At first there were only 2 people there, but after a while we started talking about things like "Sazae-san (an old cartoon)" as well as a "cat-flan/pudding" and things got interesting. And those two people who were there became my Pigg friends. The person in the middle is "Nekomaru" and the one on the right side is "TOM(B)STONE".
このアメーバ、なんだかつながりの段階が複数ありますよね。ブログの方には「読者」、「アメンバー」。どちらも双方でなく、片方のつながりで、公開したり非公開のつながり。グルっぽのつながり。ペタのつながり。それに加えてピグのつながり。こっちは申請すると双方のつながりが出来ますね。ピグ内での「きたよ」のつながり。どれもなんとか共有できたり、ピグとアメブロの間にその「ピグとも」や「アメンバー」を行き来させられたら楽なのに。	This Ameba blog site, there are so many different layers of connections. On the blog end of things there are "readers" and "Amenba (member)". These are both one-way only, and you could make it public or not. The "guruppo (group)" connection. The "peta (footprint)" connection. In addition to this, the connections within the Pigg area. For the Pigg area, when you request to be a Pigg friend, it's bi-directional. There's also the "Kitayo (I came to visit)" connection. It would be so much easier if there were a way to easily share or make some of these common between the Pigg area and the blog area, for example, the "Pigg friend" and the "Amenba".

Insularity （閉鎖的）

色々な話を書こうと試みましたが、ひょんな事でイライラしちゃいました。友達の奥さんがミ○シ○に入会したいと聞かれたのですが、最近あちらでは入会時の検証の為に日本の携帯メールが使われている事を知りました。もちろん、こちらへ在住の方なので日本の携帯電話はあっても無意味です。なーにが「ご了承・・・」だ！ベータの頃はこういう検証はありませんでした。腹が立つ・・・

I wanted to write a bunch of things on my blog lately, but a small incident made me quite irritated. My friend's wife (who is Japanese) asked for an invitation to the blog site, M_x_. I found out that they recently added the requirement of a Japanese mobile phone mail address for validation of the account. Of course, she lives here so there's no need for her to have a Japanese mobile phone. "Please acknowledge..."? What the heck? Back when they were in beta, there was no such requirement. That really pissed me off.

ここで思い出したのはゆうきまさみの「究極超人あ～る」と言うマンガの「外人部員誕生」の巻。日系米国人の「レオナルド根岸」（ベンジャミン伊東と他の人に呼称されてますが）は「閉鎖的で排他的な島国根性だ！あんた、日本人の欠点が服着て歩いてるみたいだなっ！！」の台詞がありました。自分も外国人ですが、こんな愚痴、吐いても何も起こりませんよね。ブログをアメーバに交代して良かったと思った日でした。（○ク○ィでのブログ設定は既にアメーバになっています。）

This reminded me of a manga called "Ultimate superman 'R'" by Masami Yuuki in the episode entitled "Foreign club member joins". A Japanese-American named "Leonard Negishi" (mistakenly called "Benjamin Itou" by the club members) said, "It's that island-country spirit of being insular　(closed-off) and exclusive! You're like as if all the failings of Japan were wearing clothes and walking around!!" I am also a foreigner, and these complaints probably won't cause any actions. Today, I'm glad I switched my blogs to Ameba. (My blog setting back at _i_i has already been set to Ameba.)

食えない「天丼」

ここ数週間、左手首が痛かったので医者へ行きました。診てもらった結果、「左親指腱炎」でした。英語ではtendonitisと言って、気長に治す他にないそうです。ただ、英語の単語を見て天丼の事を考えてなぜかお腹が減りました。二ヶ国語を使えると変なギャグが出てしまいそうで・・・

These past few weeks, my left wrist had been sore, so I went to see a doctor. According to my doctor, I have tendonitis of my left thumb. I was told it would take a while to completely heal. One thing that came to mind oddly was the word "tendon", which in Japanese is a meal. (Tempura on bowl of rice) That made me hungry. Being bilingual occasionally brings up strange puns.

画像雑談（Only Japanese)

さて、アホウドリさんのブログを見てどうしても同じ様な事を入れたいと試みたのですが、ネタがあまりありません・・・
まずは、「猫の手大根」

パラママーケットで見かけたので携帯ですばやく撮りました。（どうやら店で写真は嫌がられる行為の様です）

その次は「パクファミリー」

えーと、「パク」ですが、韓国語で言う「瓜」で、スバク（スイカ）、ホバク（かぼちゃ）、他の種類のメロン（これもスバク類？）、で最後にお客様のパイナップル（これはサボテン系？）

最後に今朝の部屋の状況でした。めずらしく二人以上居てかなり賑やかでした。

まずは凛さんと話していてて、「きたよ」をする人が数名行ったり来たりしました。そこにＷｏＷグルっぽで知り合ったＳａｎｔｙさんが来て、その後ピグともの＠あーりさんや☆まななん☆さんが来ました。会話がなんだか並行で３つ進んでいたようですが、突然ノーパソ加熱症で困っている凛さんが落ちて、時間的にお開きになりました。みなさん、楽しい時間を過ごせてありがとうございました。

つぶやき

先週は息子の１歳の誕生日もあり、ばたばたしてました。色々な言葉を話し始めた息子、誕生日に最初に言った事が「코딱지」（コタクジ）でした。意味は「鼻くそ」なんですが、なぜか韓国語で聞くと何気にかわいい言葉。特に息子が言うとかわいく聞こえます。でもまた言ってと言うと「タタジ」としか言いません。今の所カメラを見て「チー」と言ったり、カギを見て「キー」など言ってます。

Last week was our son's first birthday, and we were quite busy. Our son has started saying several words, and the first thing he said on his birthday was "코딱지" (Kottakji). It means "booger", but somehow when heard in Korean, the word seems cute. It's especially cute when our son says it. We asked him to say it again, but he only says "tataji" now. Other than that, he sees a camera pointed at him and he says "chee", and sees keys and says "key".

Not here

ここ数日、息子の１歳の誕生日や両親が遊びに来たり、息子の注射などで有給を含めて５連休でした。ゲームやアメーバも満足に出来なかったので、毎日のスケジュールが狂っています。あーあ、火曜日から仕事かぁ～

These past few days, events such as my son's first birthday, my parents coming to visit as well as my son's immunization shots required me to take a few days off. I had a 5-day weekend. I wasn't able to play games or come on to Ameba much, so my daily schedule is a little disrupted. Oh well, I have to work from Tuesday.

TLDNR問題

ネットの俗語サイト www.urbandictionary.com では色々な略語が掲載されています。この中で自分のブログに合うと言うなら「TLDNR」です。由来は「Too long, did not read.」（長すぎた、読まない）	The web site www.urbandictionary.com has many network and commonly used slang. What fits to my blog particularly is "TLDNR". It means "Too long, did not read."
かなり長文のブログが多いので、コメントを残す前に他のページに行く人も居るでしょうが、なるべく文章を縮小しようと頑張っています。ネタ切れは多分しませんが、長文になってしまうのがオチ。何年間やっても治らないようです。	I often write long blogs, so people tend to go on to another page before even leaving a comment. I am trying my best to keep it short. I doubt I'd run out of things to talk about, but it always ends up being long. I've been doing this for years, and I guess I haven't improved much.

開通記念（？）

前回のアメーバ友達がパソコンのカメラを買いました。でも機会がなかなか出来なくて、２日経った今晩、やっと顔を向かい合って話を出来ました。途中までうちの奥さんも一緒でしたが、息子が起きてしまったので、最後は二人だけの会話になっていました。話をしてて気付けば１時半すぎ！こうやって人と「生」で話せる事は楽しい事です。

The Ameba friend from the last entry finally bought her web cam. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the time to talk, and finally after two days, we were able to talk face-to-face. Up to a point, my wife was also there, but our son woke up and it was just the two of us talking by the end. When I checked again, it was past 1:30 in the morning! Being able to talk "live" with people is a very fun thing.

通話相手の声は若くて可愛かったです。何となくうちの奥さんに似た様な感じの声でした。

The person I talked to had a young and cute voice. Something about her voice reminded me of my wife's voice.

対面、ただし、一方通行

今夜はうちの奥さんがアメーバ友達とスカイプで通話してました。あちらの方はマイクの問題があったらしく、カメラは無かったので、ただうちの奥さんが笑っていました。こう言う事で遊べると本当に「世界が縮む」って感じてしまいます。楽しかったです。

Tonight, my wife was talking with her Ameba friend using Skype. Her friend had problems with her microphone, and didn't have a camera, so it was more "talking to" her friend, or rather just laughing. When we can play around like this it really feels like the world has shrunk. We had a lot of fun.
