Recently I read a Japanese mythology book called Kojiki that is the oldest written document in Japan.
According to the myth, I believe Japan’s first civilization occurred in Kyushu and moved through Seto inland-sea to Nara area called Yamato. I guess there was another route connecting Kyushu and Yamato that was crossing a straits to the western edge of Shikoku called Sada peninsular and traveling along the northern coast of Shikoku through Yoshino river toTokushima. Some early style ancient tomb mounds were found there. They are older than those in Osaka and Nara.
In brief, Kyushu-Cape Sada-Tokushima-Wakayama-Yoshino(Yamato).
On the route, I realized some common words that are Yoshino (吉野ヶ里、四国吉野川、吉野川、吉野) and Yamato. Coincidence?
