It took 3 times longer

Yesterday it was Saturday so I took a train to go to Matsubara but the loop line train stopped at Momodani station and didn’t move due to some trouble with the operation system. 

昨日は土曜日だったので私は松原に向かうため電車に乗ったのですが環状線の電車が桃谷駅で止まって動かない、信号機の点検とかで復旧のめどが分からないとのこと。
I needed to go to Matsubara before 10 o’clock so I had to return to Tsuruhashi station to go to Tanimachi 9. From there I went to Tennoji by Subway Tanimachi line.

私は松原に10時に着く必要があるので鶴橋駅に戻って地下鉄で天王寺に行きました。
I was late for the class one hour. Very sorry for the class members.
It took me 3 hours to get to Matsubara. It usually takes 1 hour. Although I left home at 8 am, it couldn’t be helped. 

私は授業に1時間遅れました。クラスのみなさんに迷惑をかけてしまった。松原まで3時間かかりました。普段は1時間です。私は午前8時に家を出たのですが、どうしょうもなかった。
Japanese train system is very punctual so it was a rare case.

日本の電車は非常に時間に正確なのでこれはまれなケースでした。

Like a paradise on a tropical island

Till yesterday, we used a small heater and it still worked enough for me because I put on warm clothes and moreover I pasted a handy warmer called kairo on my back.

昨日まで私達は小さなヒーターを使っていました。私にはそれで十分だった、私は十分すぎるぐらい着込んでまだその上に背中にカイロを貼り付けていますから。

But it was not warm enough for my wife who is from a tropical country.

でも南国出身の妻には十分暖かくはなかった。

This morning, she finally asked me to use our new air conditioner’s heater function.

今朝、彼女は私に新しいエアコンをつけてと頼みました。

It means we used a heater function of our new air conditioner for the first time today. It worked well and our classroom turned into a nice and warm paradise like a tropical island.

去年の夏付けたエアコンのヒーター機能を今日初めて使ってみたということです。それは私達の教室を南国のパラダイスのように暖かくしてくれた。寒さに弱い妻に可哀想なことしたと反省しています。

We went to see a movie ‘Last man’

We went out for the first time this year. We went to see a movie titled ‘Last man’ of Fukuyama Masaharu, Ohizumi Yo and Miyazawa Rie.
It was a good movie especially the their acts  were splendid. We enjoyed it very much.

I feel nowadays Japanese movies and actors are much better than those of Hollywood.

昨日は今年初めて出かけました。福山雅治さん、大泉洋さんと宮沢りえさん達のラストマンという題名の映画を見に行った。よい映画です、特に俳優さん達の演技がすばらしかった。大変楽しめました。この頃はハリウッドより日本映画だと感じます。

As usual, we went to the cinema around 2 o’clock and bought the movie tickets starting about 6:30 pm. As the cinema is in a building with shopping mall, restaurants and a game arcade, we enjoyed our free time to our heart’s content. And after watching the movie, we dropped in our favorite tavern and had nice meals.

いつものように映画館には午後2時頃行って夕方6時半頃の切符を買ってそれまでの時間は妻はゲームセンターで私は待合室の椅子に座って居眠りをして過ごしました。途中でソフトクリームを忘れずに食べました。そして映画の後はいつもの居酒屋で食事、私は熱燗で楽しみました。

なかなか有意義な一日でしょう！
