青春時代 A part of my youth

This spring, I’ve been busy coping with my heart troubles. It means I couldn’t enjoy going out to the suburban or rural areas to enjoy rich and beautiful nature.
As I’ve recovered from the health troubles, it’s time for me to enjoy my life fully. This Sunday, I’m going to enjoy my favorite singer’s concert.
His songs are very popular among many people of my generation.
In fact, they are a part of my youth.

To tell the truth, I go to his concert every year.

この春は私の不整脈治療のためにあまり遠出したりは控えていました。健康が回復した今、我が人生を謳歌出来そうです。この日曜日は私の大好きな歌手のコンサートに行きます。彼の歌は私の世代では大人気です。私の青春時代！毎年、彼のコンサートに行っています。

ええ、補聴器と双眼鏡を忘れずに行ってきます。

これ英語で何？簡単なようで難しい

1,「今日は何曜日ですか？」

2,「今日は何日ですか？」

3,「吉宗は何代目の将軍ですか？」
　　英語には何代目とか何番目と直接訊
　　く表現がないようです。

これについては、色々ネイティブの先生たちと議論しましたが、

吉宗は五代目の将軍ですか？と適当に質問して相手に答えてもらうか、

吉宗の前には何人の将軍がいましたか？と聞く　となりました。

4,「これは彼の何枚目のCDですか？」
　　　　3と似た聞き方になる

5, 「彼はどこに住んでいますか？」

6, 「彼はどこに住んでいるか知っていますか？」

この質問にはyesかnoで答えることを求めて　　いますーDo you know を文章の先頭に置く

7, 「彼はどこに住んでいると思いますか？」

　　　この質問にはyes, no ではなく

　   I think he lives in …と答えることを求めて　　いますーWhere の後ろにdo you thinkとな　　ります

8, 「あなたは名前を何と言いましたか？」

　　　　7と同じ

1, What day is it today?

2, What date is it today?

3, Is Yoshinobu the 5th shogun?
How many shoguns have there
been before Yoshinobu?

4, Is this his 8th CD?
　How many CDs has he released
before the latest one?

5, Where does he live?

6, Do you know where he lives?

7, Where do you think he lives?

8, What did you say your name was?

Summer solstice

This photo was not taken today but I like this beautiful sunset.
It was summer solstice on 21st, June.
It means we have the longest day time now. No wonder it’s still bright around 7:00 pm today. The past several days were rainy and cloudy so I didn’t realize we had the long days.
今日は午後から晴れてきたので日が長くなったのを初めて実感しました。
それに普段は教室にいる時間なので外が明るいのか暗いのか分からないが今日は日曜日なので日の長さを感じた次第です。夕方から黄昏時は子どもの頃のコウモリが飛んでいた風景やクラブ活動を終えて友だちと帰途に着くとき見た夕日が懐かしく思い出されました。
