He was our home room teacher of our last grade of elementary school.
It was the graduation day when we had our final home room meeting.
The teacher said, “This is the last moment when all class members meet together. It means we won’t have any more chance to meet with this class. So long and take care!”
Actually I didn’t take it so seriously because I felt we could meet as usual days.” In fact, the teacher’s word was true. Since then we have had our class reunions many times but not with all classmates.
6年生の最後ホームルームで担任の先生が「このクラスのみんなが揃って会えるのは今日で最後、もう二度とクラス全員で集まることはないでしょう」と言われたのは、明日からの学校休みのうれしさにはしゃいでいる子どもたちの屈託さに寂しさを感じられたからだと今になって分かった。いい先生でした。その後、この先生には大学生時代にバイトを紹介してもらったり親しくさせて頂きました。
