Yesterday when I had dinner with our granddaughter, I said to her, “I’ve heard you work in Shinsaibashi and it’s near Nanba, isn’t it?” She said, “It is not near Nanba but it is near Honmachi”, showing the location on the display of her mobile phone.
Looking at it, I was a little excited and said to her, “Oh, your workplace is just close to Senba where your great grandpa used to work.”
What a coincidence!
I’m happy knowing my grandfather, father, daughter and granddaughter’s workplaces are all near an area called Senba in Honmachi.
昨夜、私たちは孫娘と夕食に出かけました。私は彼女に仕事場は心斎橋と聞いたけど難波の近くか？と訊いたら、彼女は携帯で地図を見せて、難波より本町に近いと答えた。なんやひい爺ちゅんが仕事してた船場の近くやな、ということはオレのおじいさん、お父さん、娘と孫娘、仕事場が全部同じ本町の近くやと言うと、孫娘もなんや少し縁を感じるなという感想。 その街は船場、大阪商人のふるさと、そこで頑張ったらきっと飛躍できるで！
