トンプソン２に載っているゴスペル作品で
1878年頃アフリカ系アメリカ人の
ジェームス・アラン・ブランドによって作曲された。
バージニア州歌で南北戦争で南軍兵士に唄われていた。
ルイ・アームストロングやレイ・チャールズが
唄った作品も残っている。
トンプソン楽譜は、1914年アルマ・グルックの歌を
アレンジして楽譜に載せたのではないかと思う。
