桜も散って、春というより初夏のような陽気になってきましたね。
寒いのが苦手なので、本当に嬉しい。
暑いのは、サーフィンをやるようになってからは全然平気になりました。
暑いのに慣れたのか、気の持ち様なのでしょうか。
せっかく外が気持ちいい季節になってきたのですが、
最近はずっと家にこもってS bloodの新曲作りをしています。
今ちょうどストリングスのアレンジをしています。
「ストリングス」とは、オーケストラのヴァイオリンなどの弦楽器のことです。
歌モノのバンドサウンドにストリングスを入れる場合は、
ヴァイオリン、ヴィオラ、チェロの編成にすることが多いです。
そして各パートのフレーズを作るときは、
必ずその楽器を弾いているところをイメージするのですが、
弓を使って音を出すって、改めてすごいなと感じます。
弓の加減で強弱をつけられるし、
弓を跳ねさせるように弾いて短い音を出す”スピッカート”や、
ギターみたいに指で弾く”ピチカート”、多種多様なニュアンスを生み出せます。
そして弦を押さえる左手、ずっとビブラートをかけてますよね。
あの動きが本当に美しい。
少し不思議なのが、楽器をあごで挟んで弾くところですかね。
その発想に至った経緯が謎で興味深いです。
どの楽器も奥深くておもしろいですね。
素敵なストリングスアレンジに仕上げたいと思います。

"Strings"
The cherry blossoms have fallen, and the weather is more like early summer than spring now.
I'm really happy because I don't like the cold.
I've become completely fine with the heat since I started surfing.
I wonder if I've gotten used to the heat or if it's just a matter of mindset.
Even though the weather outside has become so pleasant, I've been holed up at home working on a new song for S blood.
I'm arranging the strings right now.
"Strings" refers to the string instruments of an orchestra, such as violins.
When adding strings to a band sound for vocal music, it's common to use a lineup of violins, violas, and cellos.
When creating phrases for each part, I always imagine playing the instrument.
I'm reminded of how amazing it is to produce sound by using a bow.
With the bow, you can control the dynamics, and you can produce various nuances such as "spiccato," which is a short sound by bouncing bow stroke, and "pizzicato," where you pluck the strings like a guitar.
And the left hand that presses the strings, always applying vibrato, that movement is truly beautiful.
What's a bit mysterious is playing the instrument with the violin tucked under the chin. The history behind that concept is mysterious and intriguing.
Every instrument is deep and fascinating. I want to create a wonderful string arrangement.
