前書き 再び唐招提寺
蟇（ひき）ないて唐招提寺春いづこ
再び唐招提寺を訪れると、初夏に鳴くヒキカエルの声が聞こえます。春はどこにいったのやら。
When I visit Toshodaiji Temple again, I can hear the toads chirping in early summer. Where did spring go?
ユーチューブを見ると、ヒキガエルは、子犬のようなかわいらしい鳴き声だ。蟾蜍（ヒキガエル）の生態を踏まえた次の句、おもしろし。
When I watch YouTube, I hear that toads make cute sounds like puppies. The following poem, which is based on the ecology of toads, is interesting.
蕪村 月の句を吐いてへらさん蟾の腹
なるほど。蟾蜍が夜鳴くのは、月の歌を歌っていたのですね。しかも、その目的はメタボ対策であったとは。
I see. So the toad's nighttime cries are singing a song about the moon. And what's more, the purpose of that is to combat metabolic syndrome.
