昭和16年の作品。冷え冷えとして、過渡期を過ぎて闇の有り様がきまった初秋であることよ。
A work from 1941. It's early autumn, when the weather is cold and the transitional period has passed and the state of darkness has been decided.
ゾルゲが、モスクワに、日米開戦が起きるのはこの年（1941年）の末であることを報告したのは、10月であった。アメリカとの対決は、噂にも上り始めており、得体のしれない闇が確実に近づいている感覚は、多くの人が感じていたものと思われる。
