手づから雨のわび笠をはりて
Repair the hat that is suitable for a feeling lonely person.
世にふるもさらに宗祇（そうぎ）のやどり哉

It is a temporary rain shelter.
次の俳句、和歌を本歌とする。

世にふるもさらに時雨のやどりかな
living to this world,
Of the further drizzling rain,
It is a temporary rain shelter.

世にふるは苦しきものをまきの屋にやすくもすぐる初時雨かな
Even though it is difficult to live in this world,
The first drizzling rain easily passes over the conifer roof.
