Looking at the fish swimming at the bottom of the water,
I get to the bottom of the true Buddha-nature.
Listening to the birds singing on the tree,
Although only slightly, I enlighten the way of Zen.
水底を泳ぐ魚から
私は真の仏性を見る
木の上で鳴く鳥の声から
私は禅の道を悟る
