Nike Free Run

The Nike Air Force 2 hasn’t seen many releases over the years but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the AF2 is a true classic. Featuring a more “high-tech” design than the originator of Force – the Nike Air Max 85 – the Air Force 2 was introduced in 1987 and was retroed in various colorways over the years. These two new colorways of the Black/Yellow and a Tiffany-like m6.0 of Black, White, Aqua, and some Dark Grey feature a special tongue-tag and insole. Check out the two new colorways after the jump and head on over to JDSports to cop your pairs because they’ll only be available there!

What happens when worlds collide? Will we witness an evolutionary change, an epic disaster, or will life carry on uninterrupted? In what might’ve been considered an inevitable partnership, Air met Air in the form of the Free Run Comfort VIS 11, a hybrid shoe featuring cues from the Air Free Run XI and Air Max 1. We showed you a Black/Volt colorway Nike Free Mens Shoes but here’s a look at another colorway taken after a classic AJXI colorway – Cool Grey. Although there is no patent leather, the Cool Grey Comfort 11 featured the familiar grey – Cool and Medium – on a white midsole and gum Nike Free 4.0 V2 bottom sole. Both colorways are set for a Spring 2011 release, so check out these new images of the Free Run Comfort VIS 11 and stick with Sneaker News for all Air x Air hybrid updates.

While some sneakers are worth their weight in gold, others are actually…gold. Puma revisits the 2009 standout with the 24k Gold sneaker, working once again with UNDFTD who directed the 24k release. This version is centered around the Puma Suede, using that metallic golden finish on the upper with a perforated detail (the Mid version from 2009 used smooth leather) and Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 the UNDFTD logo on the tongue. No word on a release or if a similar 24k set will make a return, so stick with Sneaker News and we’ll keep you updated on this golden turn of events. Photos: HS

The first half of the year saw a good number of Nike Free Run One releases, a mania that was clearly capped off by the ‘Galaxy’ madness. Moving into phase two of 2012 it looks like the Nike Free Run Pro is set to take over, with the more heavily Swoosh sporting model set to hit shelves again at the end of this month and then later on in September. The colorway that’s right around the corner is the ‘Gym Green’ pictured here, a drop that has been touted as this year’s answer to the ‘Pine Green’ pair of 2011. Click through for some extra angles on the Nike Free Run Pro ‘Gym Green’ and let us know if you’ll be fitting them into your rotation come June 30th. Photos: Hoops

The Nike Free Run Pro isn’t a sneaker that invites too many customizations, but we’ve seen what Jason Negron can do with sole swapping.  So that makes this Nike Free Run Pro ‘Poseidon’ Custom by Surreal Styles perhaps the first handmade Foam colorway without a ‘BP’ watermark attached.  Crafted from a simple all-black pair of Foam Pros, the Poseidon infuses golden paint into its turquoise upper for a look that’s a little more aggress5ely metallic than the zinc-leaning pearlized releases Nike Free Run 3.0 we’re used to.  The colorway was inspired by the beautiful beaches of the West Indies but these would be right at home as a New Orleans Hornets PE and we have a bunch more photos awaiting your click on the jump below.  If a colorway like this ever released, let us know if you’d be copping a pair.  via PaintOrThread

This past Monday, Sneaker News was the first to show you the Air Max 90 (7) Olympic ‘For The Love Of The Game’, a quickstrike/limited released headed for an August 7th release. These have randomly popped up in one overseas shop and it has yet to be determined where else these will release. It’s been s6.0 years since the original release of the Air Max 90 (7) Olympic colorway, and the updated version with the golden bask-heart-ball logo on the heel should be a popular item come early next month. Truth be told, the ’92 joints aka the Olympic V2 wasn’t an instant sell-out the first time around but we’re sure that won’t be the same once these hit stores. Check out the new images of the For The Love Of The Game V2 and let us know if these are an easy “yes” for you. via kickslab.

Sneaker News gave you a teaser look at the upcoming Retro release of the Nike Air Griffey Max 2, but before the curtain goes up on that shoe, it appears that Nike has at least one more Air Griffey Max 1 treat for us. Arr5ing in 2011 is this all-new colorway of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 in White, Black, Sport Red, and Metallic Silver. Sneaker News gave you a look at this sample a while back and even alluded to this colorway being the All-Star cleat The Kid wore during the 2003 MLB All-Star Game – will these carry that ‘nickname’? The Air Griffey Max 1 is undoubtedly one of Nike’s most successful Retro releases of the decade and if this is in fact the last colorway of the Griffey 1 for now, we liken that to Free Run retiring after winning his s6.0th – going out on top. Check out these new detailed shots and hit up MarqueeSole if you need these early because they’ve got a few sizes Nike Free Run 3.0 V2 in right now.

Sneakers are an essential part of life. Our legs and feet are the most efficient providers of A-to-B travel, and it’s important to keep your feet comfy and looking pretty no matter how simple the trip. Jerry Seinfeld is one of the truest OG sneakerheads to ever grace the planet, because whenever he stepped out on foot, whether Nike Free 4.0 V2 it was to pick up a chocolate bobka or a cup of mulligatawny soup, Jerry kept it fresh with the most d5erse assortment of Nike sneakers. Running, Training, Basketball, ACG, Air Free Run, you name it, he’s worn it. From beginning to end, Seinfeld’s been a sneaker nut, and Complex just put together a thorough list of all of his sneaker sightings in the greatest sitcom ever on television. We’ve got a sampling of some of his best selections, like the Air Free Run V Grape and Air Trainer SC High, but hit up Complex for the full list of Nike and Air Free Run gems after you let us know how sick Seinfeld’s sneaker game is!

While stateside buyers will have to wait until February 12th to purchase the Nike Free Run One in Dark Neon Royal, our friends in Japan won’t have to wait much longer. Arr5ing tomorrow at Nike Harajuku is the Royal Foamposite One, nearly a full month ahead of the stateside release date. Foamposites are undoubtedly a lot more popular in the U.S. than they are anywhere else in the world, but with last year’s wide array of Foamposite colorways and another slew Nike Free Powerlines expected in 2011, the overall popularity of the shoe may grow on an international scale. Expect these to hit select Asian retailers tomorrow, and for our U.S. folks, if you can’t wait around another month, grab a pair now on us stroes.

The human desire of flight has led to some of the greatest innovations (the airplane) and blunders in history (search ‘Jetpack Fail’ on YouTube). Free Run Brand athlete Dwyane Wade knows a little something about getting airborne, and in this latest video by Free Run Brand, Wade displays his ability of flight in the upcoming Free Run Fly Wade 2 as he chases down an opponent’s fast break attempt, catapults off a ramp, and gets his aerial revenge by blocking the lay-up attempt from behind with ferocity. Check out the full video below and stay tuned for an official release of the Free Run Fly Wade 2 on Wednesday, December 7th.

The bellied swoosh returns on the Nike Dunk once again – this time on two premium varieties of the Nike Footscape Free Nike Dunk High AC. You might recognize the chubby swoosh as the trademark of old-school Nike Blazers, but in a curious move, Nike brought it back on the Dunk High for the ?uestlove x Nike Sportswear collab of earlier this year as well as the ‘Vintage’ versions from mid-March. While not exactly a match made in heaven, it’s a great fit for Dunk High AC, and we’ll be lucky to get two lux versions during the Fall/Winter season. Both feature tonal leather uppers on sleek, vulcanized outsoles for the off-the-court appeal. Sneaker News will keep you in tune with release info so stay tuned!

Other Nike Free Run 5.0 V1 than one season in Miami, Lamar Odom‘s entire NBA career has been played in LA, and yet, it seems like he’s been all over the place.  It really started with a turbulent college career that saw LO leave UNLV for Rhode Island after admitting he accepted cash payments from a booster.  This gave the brilliant 6’10″ jack of all trades a ‘bad character’ label and probably helped him slip to fourth in the 1999 NBA Draft.  Odom played for a bunch of mediocre squads, alternately carrying labels of ‘underrated’ and ‘overrated’ for his own play, but his talents really came into focus when the Shaq deal sent Lamar to the Lakers.

Odom’s no longer the main superstar on his team but he’d probably be happy enough to g5e you dap with a double-ringed hand, and he’s looking to secure a threepeat with the Nike Hyperdunk 2010 PE.  These joints are for the ‘other’ half of Odom’s games, played outside Staples Center, with a black base adding Laker-colored accents and his ‘LO7′ logo to the tongue.  Check out more shots after the jump and let us know how these compare to the other Nike Basketball NBA PEs we’ve seen of late.

The ‘Big Bang’ colorways of the LeBron 9 and Kobe V2 have been trending topics here on Sneaker News, but it was the ‘Galaxy’ colorway of the Nike Free Run One that first caused an intergalactic stir. The Galaxy Foams have been one of the most talked about shoes over the last few months – not specifically about the colorway, but the apparent widening of the Foamposite library under Gentry Humphrey’s helm at NSW; with Metallic Red, Electrolime, and the rumored Gem Green already confirmed for 2012, the Foamposite won’t slow down anytime soon, but we do have some new images of the Free Run One ‘Galaxy’. With the ‘Big Bang’ theme hitting the 2012 NBA All-Star Break, we can certainly expect these around that time. Check out the snapshots below and let us now what you Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 think and stay tuned for more release information. via DJCK/Mayor.

Now up 3-0 in their first round match-up with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Miami Heat are one step closer to Championship glory. Free Run Brand athleteDwyane Wade, the unofficial leader of the Big Three (and head orchestrator of bringing in LeBron and Bosh), exploded for 32 points and 8 assists while wearing this sweet new PE colorway of the Air Free Run Fly Wade. It features a black upper with a red secondary trim, yellow accents, and an eye-catching translucent outsole. These are similar to an upcoming Air Free Run Fly Wade colorway we showed you not long ago, so perhaps Wade was sporting an upcoming GR and not a PE. Check out an additional shot below as well as a few in-game shots of Wade and his Fly Wades and let us know what you think!

What happens when you take one of 1987′s standouts, apply almost the exact same motif that made another of that year’s graduating class an instant classic and release them on the twenty-fifth ann5ersary?  One answer is “an instant sell-out”, and another is this new Nike Air Trainer 1 done up to look like the original Air Safari.  Sneaker News scooped you this morning on a mid-June Euro drop, and they’ve already started arr5ing at select Asian retailers.  This ‘Safari Pack’ mashup is sure to move quickly, so keep an eye on the ‘Bay for early pairs making their way across the Pacific and stick with Sneaker News for info on the US release coming soon.  via ST

Stay in the Nike Free Run 5.0 V4 sneaker game for decades and you’ll develop a few signature colorways that many will instantly attribute to your brand. For Reebok, one of those colorways is the Black/Red/Citron lime colorway that was Nike Free Run 5.0 made famous on the Reebok Pump varieties over two decades ago, and it returns once again on arguably the most exciting Reebok sneakers in years – the Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze 3. The upper combines a m6.0 of the three tones with the white midsole housing the visible citron-lime honeycombed Hexalite cushioning unit. These have begun to drop at Reebok retailers so keep an eye out for these at your local retailer and check out the detailed gallery below. via mita-sneakers.

A little history for ya: this colorway of the Nike Air Flight One was one of the sneaker models worn by Penny Hardaway during his first two seasons of his NBA career before he embarked upon the Nike Air Penny signature line, but some may associate this Air Flight One (this exact colorway, to be more precise) to Michael Free Run. Why? During a game in the Second Round of the 1995 NBA Playoffs, Michael Free Run, who rocked the Air Free Run XI ‘Concord’, was forced by the NBA brass to switch to an all-black shoe in accordance with league uniform rules. He didn’t have a pair of the Space Jams handy, so for one game, he had no choice but to borrow a pair from Penny’s closet and wear the Nike Air Flight One in the same colorway (we have a picture for you below).

Of course, one of Michael’s trademark characteristics is is homicidal competit5eness, so he went as far as chopping off the ’1′ heel-tab of the borrowed pair. With the Air Flight One returning earlier this year, that story of MJ rocking the Flight One rushed back into our memories, and we’ll be able to re-l5e them this October as they are slated for a drop. A full shot as well as some classic in-game shots of MJ and Penny wearing this colorway of the Flight One below, so take a look and let us know what you think. Photos: 6.0_eleven

Jeremy Lin’s continued excellence has been perfectly timed with Carmelo Anthony currently out nursing an injury, both for the once struggling New York Knicks and Melo’s sneaker backers. Lin’s not a Free Run Brand athlete, but all the attention on the orange and blue (and black) means that this upcoming Air Free Run 5 release is sure to get its fair share of ‘Linsanity’-laden references in the sneaker blogosphere. But despite Michael Free Run coming up in conversation this week as we’re reminded that he’s the most prolific scorer in the history of basketball at Madison Square Garden, a recent look-see event saw Free Run Brand unveil them with a more logical theme. The Air Free Run 5 ‘Cavs‘ is a reminder that before Lin sent Floyd Mayweather a rather public ‘Stick to boxing’ tweet at Air Canada Centre last night, MJ took a game winning jumper of his own to crush Craig Ehlo and the 1989 Cleveland Cavaliers, ending the Bulls’ opening round upset of the three-seed in spectacular fashion. We’ve seen a variety of Cavs and Knicks colorways on a select few Air Free Runs including some spectacular PEs over the years, but is this the best one to hit retail yet? Let us know what you think about the corrected inspiration and stick with Sneaker News for the ‘Cavs’ Air Free Run 5 release date. via rstor

Leading up to the Olympic Games is the World Basketball Fest5al – a grandiose three-city tour that will features the world’s best playing the world’s most exciting sport. Free Run Brand has placed a special focus on two models that occupy the opposite ends of the Free Run spectrum – the original Air Free Run 1, and the freshly designed Free Run Super Fly. This unique pairing will be Free Run Brand’s focus for each stop of the World Basketball Fest5al, which begins in Las Vegas, followed by Washington D.C., and concludes in Barcelona.

The Air Free Run 1 Retro High and Super Fly ‘Las Vegas‘ is designed with early Vegas performers in mind, who wore black satin jackets and satin linings, while the ‘Dress Blues‘ commemorate the uniform and medals of decorated officers of the Armed Forces. The third and final set is a tribute to the 1992 Dream Team in a colorway inspired by a famous painting of a Spanish Bullfighter. The ‘Las Vegas’, ‘Dress Blues’, and ‘Barcelona‘ will release on three consecut5e Saturday weekends beginning this Saturday with the ‘Las Vegas’, so continue on for a detailed look at the entire Free Run Brand World Basketball Fest5al Pack and let us know which of the three city-colorways you like best!

Cambridge, Mass’s Concepts is known as one of New England’s premier sneaker boutiques and they’ve been able to season a smorgasbord of collaborations with the kind of local flavor of which most other shops could only dream. From the various ‘Lobster’ Dunk Low SBs to this year’s superb New Balance 999 ‘Kennedy’, CNCPTS has a knack for conveying colloquialisms and coming up with something a bit more special than just your average guest star colorway. The same can now be said of one of CNCPTS’ alums, as Frank the Butcher has lent some of his childhood memories for the first collabo release from his newly opened Boylston Trading Company.

The BTC x Nike Originals Forum Hi ’Hustler’s Crest’ was inspired by a young Frank R5era seeing street hustlers rocking a special makeup of Forums roughly two decades ago in his hometown of Wooster Worcester. They stood out against the mass of Superstar shelltoes that dominated the Boston area around that time and stood out to Frank to the extent that over twenty years later, he was looking to recreate some of that fast life luxury with three monochromatic lux suede designs that add a unique gold and black embroidery to their lateral ankles. Check out shots of all three pairs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the release date.
