「無重力リーダーシップ」という本を読んだ。
I read a book called "Weightless Leadership."
この本は今の時代に必要なリーダーシップを教えてくれている。
This book teaches us the kind of leadership we need in this day and age.
この本が教えてくれていることを2つ紹介する。
I'd like to introduce two things that this book teaches us.
1「リーダーとしてすべきことが決まっているわけではない」
"There is no set way to be a leader."
こんなふうに思っている人は多いのではないか。
I think many people think this way.
リーダーは他のメンバーよりも仕事ができなければならない。
A leader must be better at their job than the other members.
リーダーは部下に対して厳しく指導しなければならない。
A leader must be strict with their subordinates.
でも、決してそんなことはない。
But that's not the case.
リーダーにはいろいろなことが求められるが、するべきことが決まっているわけではない。
Leaders are expected to do many things, but there is no set way to be.
だからそのチームに合わせた形のリーダーであれば良いのだ。
So it's fine to be a leader that suits the team.
時にはサポートをし、時に一緒に作業し、時にわからないことを教えてもらっていい。
Sometimes you support them, sometimes you work together, and sometimes you can be taught things you don't understand.
そのチームに合ったリーダーの形を探していくことが1番大事だそうだ。
The most important thing is to find the right type of leader for the team.
2「常に自分の価値観をアップデートする」
"Always update your values."
リーダーは幅広い世代の人と関わる必要がある。
A leader needs to interact with people of a wide range of generations.
自分の価値観だけ押し付けると年下はついてこない。
If you only impose your own values on younger people, they won't follow you.
年上の考え方を変えることがとても難しい。
It's very difficult to change the way older people think.
まずは相手を理解することから始めよう。
Start by understanding the other person.
相手と話す中で、相手の考えをどんどん自分に取り入れよう。
As you talk with the other person, incorporate their ideas into your own.
毎日、新しい考え方をアップデートして、自分の考えの幅を広げよう。
Update your thinking with new ideas every day and broaden the scope of your own.
完璧なリーダーは存在しない。
There is no perfect leader.
今日よりも明日少しでも良いリーダーになっていればそれで良いそうだ。
It's enough if you can be a slightly better leader tomorrow than you are today.
