People often think a tennis coach’s job is simply to make players better.
Of course, improvement matters.
But after years on the court, I’ve realized something deeper:
The real job of a coach is to create more moments where someone feels…
“Wow, I’m happy.”
A little kid who keeps a rally going for the first time.
A junior player earning their first match win.
An adult rediscovering a shot they thought was gone forever.
A senior player who started for health… and found new friends along the way.
Everyone’s version of happiness looks different.
But every smile on the court carries the same value.
That’s the magic of tennis.
Winning feels good.
Hitting clean feels good.
Running feels good.
Connecting with people feels good.
And sometimes…
just being able to step onto the court today is enough to make someone smile.
That’s why coaching isn’t about forcing your own ideals onto players.
It’s about discovering what brings each person joy —
and helping them experience more of it.
For the player chasing the professional dream.
For the person who simply loves the game.
For someone picking up a racket again after many years.
Tennis has a place for everyone.
Tennis is a sport that quietly moves life in a more positive direction.
And that’s why today, just like every day,
we help create those moments of:
“I did it.”
“That was fun.”
“I can’t wait to come back.”
Because those little moments of joy…
are what tennis is really all about.

「テニスの魅力。コーチの仕事とは、“嬉しい”を増やすこと。」
テニスコーチの仕事は、“上手くさせること”だと思われがちです。もちろんそれも大切です。でも現場で感じるのは、本当に大事なのは「あ、この人、嬉しそうだな」を増やすことだということです。
初めてラリーが続いた小学生。試合で初勝利した中学生。昔できなかったショットが戻ってきた大人の方。健康のために始めて、仲間が増えていたシニアの方。
みんな“嬉しい”の形は違います。でも、その瞬間の笑顔には同じ価値があります。
テニスは不思議なスポーツです。
勝って嬉しい。打てて嬉しい。走れて嬉しい。繋がれて嬉しい。
時には「今日もコートに来れた」それだけで嬉しい日もあります。
だからコーチの仕事は、誰かの理想を押し付けることではありません。その人が感じる“嬉しい”を見つけて、少しでも増やしていくことです。
プロを目指す選手にも。趣味で楽しむ方にも。久しぶりにラケットを握った人にも。それぞれに、ちゃんとテニスの魅力があります。
テニスは、人生を少し前向きにしてくれるスポーツ。
だから今日も僕たちは、あらゆるテニスプレーヤーの「できた！」「楽しい！」「また来たい！」そんな“嬉しい”のお手伝いをしています。
