Today, I was watching movies about studying in USA by Education USA. It was this morning that I know the movies will have been published until 14:00 today. I assumed that I can watch them after school, so I had to change my plan. That's why I'm writing this diary in this time in a hurry. I also have to prepare for English and Chinese Character test. I'm not so free that I can celebrate my birthday. I want the day to come after one week. I can't even think about which wireless earphone I should buy as my birthday present. I have no time to consider who can make time to celebrate me. I don't care no matter how few people say "Happy Birthday!". I just want to finish my work. Even I finished all of my homework, I have to prepare for midterm test and TOEFL iBT. I also have to engage to join my extracurricular activities. Maybe a depression will come to me soon and be bound by it. But I shouldn't think such a thing. I just work.
Yesterday, I participated a webinar held by Grew Bancroft Foundation. The admission officer from Union, Depauw, Carleton and Grinell came to give us some information about their university. Depauw is my first choice of university, so I paid attention to the session.
I felt it was fun rather than formal. All of the university impressed themselves as not just an education institution but a home students can depend on and make wonderful experiences. They can even laugh while they were explaining their university. I guess these people consider the university as a kind of hometown. I was moved the atmosphere a lot. My desire to spend a great life in the university in US got stronger joining this info session.
After four lectures from four officers, I went to break out session. I decided to go to a room of Depauw University, my dream school. A famous alumnus of Depauw from Japan came here to give more information for us: actually I had known her in Twitter. I asked for them to tell me how I should consider my extracurricular activities. The admission officer said, "It's not important to make a activities list. What's really important is doing a thing you really passionate." The akumnus said, "The admission officers browse lots of application essay, so they will be tired of reading them if there are no special point. What you have to do is to make a story about what you care about, why you care about and so on. You also should do a thing you truly care about, not make a activities list." I want to learn these words by heart.
