wait はほぼ自動詞。wait forが多いかな。～を待っている、と言うとどうも他動詞のような気がする。通常は自動して使うようだ。
control over sth
sthを支配下に置く、制御する。have control over sth (よく使うみたい), retain one’s control over sth など
The teacher had no control over the children.(OALD) 全然コントロールできていない。

(英作文用) 歴史的背景。似た感じだと思うけど、historical contextというのもあった。historical contextはゴシックになっていてよく使うようだ。

perspective (n)
どうも遠近法がすぐ出てくるが、
1. 観点。a particular attitude towards something; a way of thinking about something SYN：viewpoint (OALD)

2. the ability to think about problems and decisions in a reasonable way without exaggerating their importance (OALD) 大局的な見方。
get/keep something in perspective (=judge the importance of something correctly)

afford (v)
お金の余裕がある、とか思い出すが、こんなのもあった。
(formal) to provide somebody with something (OALD)
供給するとか与えるとかである。知らんかった。

eager (a)
eagerは分かるんだけど、SYN：keen。そうか、keenはeagerだったのか。
