先週木曜日はアメリカではサンクスギビング（感謝祭）だったので、お友達を自宅に招待して祝いました。
Last Thursday was Thanksgiving in the U.S., so I invited some friends over to celebrate.
お友達の一人が七面鳥をなんと丸々一羽購入し、調理してくれました。
A friend actually bought a whole turkey and prepared it for us.
私はマッシュポテト、スタッフィング（小さく切ったパンに野菜やハーブなどを混ぜたもの）、ほうれん草のクリーム煮を担当。どれも典型的なサンクスギビング料理です。
I was in charge of making the mashed potato, stuffing, and creamed spinach...all classic Thanksgiving side dishes.
日本では珍しい七面鳥を食べられるとのことで、アメリカ出身でない友達も楽しんでくれたので良かったです。
みんな一斉に写真を撮り始めました 笑
I'm glad that my friends who are not from the states enjoyed the dinner since it's rare to be able to eat turkey in Japan. Everyone started taking pictures at once!
アメリカでは通常家族と祝うサンクスギビングですが、ここ最近、里帰りできない友達と集まって祝う「フレンズギビング」が増えています。
Usually, people spend Thanksgiving with their family, but in recent years, more and more people are celebrating "Friendsgiving" where friends who cannot go back home come together to celebrate the holiday together.
3年以上実家に帰れていないので今年も一人で祝うつもりでいたんですが、日本で初のフレンズギビング、やってみて良かったです！
I haven't been able to go back home to the U.S. for over three years, so I was planning to spend Thanksgiving alone again this year, but I'm glad I organized my first Friendsgiving in Japan!
