先日、テロ対策特殊装備展(SEECAT)’17＠東京ビックサイトに行く機会がありました！
The other day, I had the opportunity to go to the Special Equipment Exhibition & Conference for Anti-Terrorism (SEECAT) 2017 at the Tokyo Big Sight!
国内唯一のテロ対策専門展ということで、色々な特殊機材や装備をみることができました。
As this is the only exhibition in Japan that specializes in counter-terrorism, I was able to see various equipment.
この顔認証システム、すごかったですよ！私の顔もシステムに入れられました
This facial recognition system was so cool! My face was also inserted into the system...
リアルタイムのビデオ映像からウォッチリストに入っている特定の人物を見つけ出すことができるようです。人や集団の行動データなどのリアルタイム分析も。
This system can pinpoint individuals on live video feeds who match those on a specified watchlist. It can also instantly analyze behavioral data of individuals and groups.
集団でカメラにアプローチしても、瞬時に人を見分けて分析します！空港などで使ってるのでしょうね。
Even when a large group approaches the camera, the system is able to distinguish the individuals and analyze them near instantly. I'm sure they use such systems at airports.
スーツを着た業界の人が多かったので、急に行けることになって着替える暇もなくジーンズで行った私は目立ちましたが…。
This was a sudden opportunity so I didn't have time to change. I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb among all the participants in suits who were clearly in the industry...

シミュレーターということで空気ペレットでしたが！
It was only a simulator, so I was shooting air pellets.
空気なのでキックパックはそれほどすごくなかったですが、本物だと肩が痛くなるんだろうな…
Since this is only a simulator using air, the recoil wasn't too bad, but I'm sure if I use the real thing, my shoulder would be in pain...
防犯用のマーキングガン！
A marking gun for crime prevention!
コンビニなどに置かれている防犯カラースプレーに似てますが、銃のように撃つのでスプレーやカラーボールよりも正確で、遠くまで撃てるので犯人が逃げていてもスプレーできそうですね。
Similar to color sprays that are kept at some convenience stores, this allows you to mark someone much more accurately than a color spray or color balls, and because it can be used at a distance, one can mark a suspect as he/she is running away.
この液体検査装置は、ペットボトルやガラス瓶等の容器に入った液体の成分を近赤外光センサーを使って測定し、可燃物・爆発物を検知してその危険性を判定する装置だそうです。
Using near-infrared sensors, this liquid explosive detector assesses liquids in containers like plastic bottles or glass bottles and determines the possible presence of explosive precursors and explosive liquids.
なんと１～４秒で判定するらしく、しかもかなりコンパクト！
It determines the results in just one to four seconds, and the scanner itself is so compact!
空港ではもちろん、最近だとイベント会場やスタジアムなどのテロ対策強化が求められているところで貢献しそうですね。
In addition to airports, this detector will probably be of great use at venues where the recent need for counter-terrorism efforts are high, such as stadiums and concert venues.

It was a great learning experience
多くのものが外国製でしたが、日本製のドローンやカメラなどもあり、これからもどんどん対テロ装備が進化していくんでしょうね…海外でも国内でも。
Many of what I saw were products of non-Japanese companies, but there were some that were Japan-made, such as drones and cameras. I anticipate the continuing evolution of anti-terrorism equipment, both domestically and abroad.
