初！静岡です
First time in Shizuoka...
今日はどんよりと曇りでしたが、運良くチラッと富士山が見えました
It was a gloomy, mostly cloudy day today, but luckily, we were able to see Mt. Fuji, albeit only for a few minutes...
静岡名物あべ川もち
外国人観光客の方をインタビューしましたが、「富士山」はもちろん知っていても、「静岡」は知らなかったり、富士山以外の静岡観光スポットは知らない方が多いんですね。
We interviewed foreign tourists and found that though all of them of course knew about Mt. Fuji, many of them knew nothing about Shizuoka or other attractions in the region.
実は私も日本に住み始めた2年前まで、富士山は山梨県と静岡県の間にまたがっているとは知らなかったです…。
In all honesty, I didn't know Mt. Fuji was located between Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures until I started living in Japan two years ago...FAIL.
アメリカの首都ワシントンDCが、メリーランド州とバージニア州に挟まれた、自治権を持つ特別区だと知っている人は世界的に少ないのと同じことなのでしょうか
I suppose it's similar to how not many people know that Washington DC is a self-governing, independent district located between the states of Maryland and Virginia?
