昨日は妹とその彼氏が新宿のゴールデン街に行きたいということで、いってきたよ
Last night, my sister and her boyfriend wanted to go to Golden-gai in Shinjuku, so we ventured into the district.
やっぱ外国の観光客が多いですね！ゴールデン街は英語のガイドブックに必ず載ってるもんねー。新しい友達つくりました
As expected, there were a lot of foreign tourists in the area! Golden-gai is almost always listed in English travel guides. I was able to make new friends last night.

スナップチャット！昨日、妹とその彼氏に使い方を教えてもらいました。
Snapchat! My sister and her bf taught me how to use it last night.
あ、でもかなり前から流行ってるんだよね？全然流行についていけてないぞ
But I guess Snapchat has been quite popular for some time now? I'm not with the times...
なんかいまいち使い方も、このアプリの意味も１００％理解してないのですが。
I have yet to fully grasp how to use this app, or its purpose for that matter...
SnapchatのCEOエヴァン・スピーゲルはスタンフォード大学時代、商品デザインのクラスで「動画や画像を開いたら消えてしまうアプリ」のアイディアをプレゼンしたら、当初はクラスメートにばかにされたらしいです。
Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel pitched the idea of an app that permanently deletes photos and videos after opening them in a product design class at Stanford. At the time, his classmates balked at the idea.
でも数年後、Snapchatの立ち上げに成功したスピーゲルさん！今では最もホットなソーシャルメディアアプリに。
But years later, Spiegel successfully launched Snapchat. Now, it's one of the hottest social media apps out there.
ビジネスモデルは？利益は？やっぱ投資とアドなのかな…アメリカだと18歳～34歳の４５％は毎日スナップチャットを使っているらしいので。
I wonder what the business model is? Profits? I suppose venture capital and ads...in the U.S., approximately 45% of the coveted 18 to 34-year-old demographic uses Snapchat every day.

でもその一方で、記録が残らないコミュニケーションツールとして、スナップチャットはテロリストやテロ攻撃の計画に使われているという情報も…（少し前に紹介したテレグラムというアプリも同じ）。
On the other hand, as a communication tool that doesn't leave a record, Snapchat is apparently used by terrorists for planning attacks...(same goes with other apps like Telegram, which I introduced a few weeks back).
