もう11月ですね、早いなー
今日は朝から秋葉原でロケでした～
This morning, I had an outdoor shoot in Akihabara.
海外から友達が遊びにくるとき、必ず秋葉原に連れてってー！と言われます…
Whenever a friend visits me from abroad, they always ask me to take them to Akihabara
海外の友達が秋葉で行きたがるとこトップ３…メイド喫茶、ふくろうカフェ、電気街。
Top three places that my friends visiting from abroad want to go to in Akihabara...maid cafe, owl cafe, and electric town.
秋葉原のふくろうカフェ、今年だけでも3回くらい行ってます
I've already visited the owl cafe three times this year.
ふくろうカフェは大ヒットなんだけど、外国人の友達に結構ひかれるのがメイド喫茶。
The owl cafe is quite a big hit, but my non-Japanese friends aren't as crazy about the maid cafes.
「想像してたのと違った…」
"It's not what I was expecting..."
「女性は嫌々この仕事をさせられてるの？」
"Are the women forced to work these jobs?"
「日本の女性ってこんなに軽視されてるの？差別じゃないの？」
"Are women in Japan so lowly regarded? Isn't this sexist?"
みんなガイドブックに載ってるから行ってみたい！って言うけど、いざ行ってみたらこのようなリアクションばかりでした。
Maid cafes are always highlighted in the guidebooks, so everyone wants to give them a try, but once they go, they all have the above reactions to the experience.
「楽しかった！」と言った外国人の友達は、女性でも男性でも、未だ一人もいないですね…。
I have yet to have a friend who enjoyed their experience there, male or female.
先日、世界経済フォーラム（WEF）が公表した2016年版「ジェンダー・ギャップ指数・男女格差ランキング」で、日本は世界144カ国中111位と、さらに落ちましたね…。
Japan's rank was recently lowered to 111th out of 144 countries in the WEF's Global Gender Gap Report.
「メイド喫茶」とか「アイドル」とか「ロリコン」とか、「文化だから」と流されてしまったら何とも言えないですが、女性の地位や女性に対する考え方が、世界に比べると日本はかなり乗り遅れてるというのはここに住んでみて痛感します。
There's nothing more I can say if you simply brush off "maid cafes" and "idols" and "lolicon" as "just culture." I can say though that after living here, I've painfully felt that women's status in Japan and the attitude toward women here fall greatly behind the realities of other countries.
メディアやエンタメ業界も例外ではないし。この業界のほうがもっとひどいと感じるときもよくあります。
The media and entertainment industries are no exceptions. There are times when I feel this industry is even worse.

ロケが終わったあと気づいたんだけど、穴があいてたよ
I realized after the shoot that there was a hole in the sweater, oops.
もっとお洒落を追求せねば
I have to get better fashion sense...
