昨日は討論会を観てから、色々とバタバタ。
Yesterday, after watching the presidential debate, I ran around town for various work and personal appointments...
2回目の討論会、視聴率が一回目に比べるとがくっと落ちたみたいですね。
It appears viewership for the second debate fell sharply when compared with the first debate.
色々なスキャンダルがあったから、汚い戦いになることは予想できたんで、「子供にみせたくなかった」という親が多かったそうです。
Amidst the various scandals, since it was expected that the fight would turn ugly, there were many parents who did not want their child watching the debate.
髪がパサパサなので、昨日、仕事の合間に美容院へ。
My hair is dry as twigs, so yesterday, I went to the hair salon in between work appointments.
日本にきてびっくりしたのが、美容院でのサービスがびっくりするほど良いこと。
One thing that surprised me about Japan was the high quality service that is provided at the salons.
でもそのぶんアメリカに比べると高いし時間がかかるし、とにかく美容師さんからの質問が多い気が。
But in exchange, the cost is higher and the service takes longer when compared to the states. Also, the hairdresser doesn't ask as many questions as they do in Japan.
アメリカ人は我が強いんで、注意しないと美容師さんも質問や確認もせずにぱっぱと本人が良いと思った髪型にしてしまう
Americans are highly individualistic and strong-willed, so hairdressers quickly cut your hair in their own image unless you stop them.
あと昨日、会社の代表として面白いイベントに参加しました。
I also represented my company at an interesting event yesterday.
日本に来る外国人を受け入れるサービスを提供しているGoGoNihonという団体が主催したイベント。
GoGoNihon, an organization that assists foreigners coming into Japan, hosted the event.
そこで日本での仕事について話させてもらいました！
I was given the opportunity to speak about working in Japan!
そのあとは事務所の先輩、石井てる美さんとご飯ー！
After this, I went to dinner with Terumi Ishii.
てる実さん、モンスターズインクのモンスターみたいなセーター着てたよ
Terumi-san was wearing a sweater that was reminiscent of the big blue monster from Monster Inc.
