とある仮想世界に住む「シム」というキャラクターたちを操って、人生をシミュレーションできちゃうゲームなんです。
It's a game where you control characters called "Sims" in a fantasy world and simulate their lives.
オリジナルのThe Simsがリリースされたのはたしか私が中学生のとき。学校でもめちゃくちゃ流行りました。
The original The Sims was released when I was in middle school, and it was a big hit at our school.
それから２や３が出て、一番最新のThe Sims 4は2014年にリリース。
Since then, Sims 2 and 3 were released, and the newest The Sims 4 came out in 2014.
あれからどんだけ変わったのか、最近気になってきて、ゲームを買っちゃいました！
Recently, I started wondering how much the game has changed since the original version, so I bought it!
このゲームが面白いのがリアリティにあふれていること！
This game is interesting because it's super realistic!
シムをデザインしたら（体形からメイクのしかたまで、細かくデザインできます）、まず家に引っ越して、仕事を探して、友達作って、彼氏を作って…。
After designing your Sim (from their body type to how they do their makeup), you move into a house, find a job, make friends, make a boyfriend...
トイレに行ったりお腹がすいたら自分で料理したりレストランに行ったり。シムのムードを伺いながら操ります。
Sims go to the bathroom, and they cook or go out to eat when they're hungry. You control your Sim while watching their needs.

他人と交流するときも、かなり色々な選択肢があるからびっくり。
I was surprised by how many options there are when interacting with others.
「ジョークを言う」だけじゃなくてそのジョークの種類とか、ただ単に「キスする」だけじゃなくて「手にキスをする」とか「ほっぺにキスをする」とか「熱いキスをする」とか…
It's not just "Tell a joke," but you get to choose the type of joke. Instead of just "Kiss," it's "Kiss Hands" or "Kiss Cheek" or "Passionate Kiss"...
はじめはまだ貯金中、家もかなり質素です。
At first, you have to save money, so your house is quite modest and austere.
お金をためて、買い物したり、結婚して家族ができたらもっと大きな家に引っ越したり…
You can save money and buy things, or move to a bigger house once you get married and have a family...
ちなみに私が選んだキャリアが「スパイ」
BTW, the career I chose was "Spy."
他にも「医者」や「宇宙飛行士」「刑事」「コメディアン」と、色々…。
Other career options include "Doctor," "Astronaut," "Detective," "Comedian," and so on...
そして、そう、結婚できるんですよ！しかも恋愛に関してもとてもリアル…浮気したり、それがバレて離婚してしまったり…
And yes, Sims can get married! Romance is very realistic too...Sims can cheat, and this can lead to divorce...

ゲームの中でも男性はことをすませたらとっとと寝ちゃうのねーー本当リアル
Even in a game, the guy just goes off to sleep after doing his deed...so realistic.
今は給料も結構上がったんで家具ももっと良いのにアップグレードできました。
Now, I've gotten quite a raise in salary, so I upgraded the furniture.
あと、結婚もできました。でも右下に寝ている赤ちゃんは夫との子ではありません。夫はそれを知りません。
And, my Sim got married. But the baby you see in the bottom right was not conceived with my Sim's husband. The husband doesn't know.

See? So realistic.
普段、自分ができてないことを（結婚とか…）ゲームの中でシミュレーションして楽しむってのも面白いですね
Doing things you can't normally do (like marriage...) in a game and simulating your life can be quite fun!
