クリスマス大好きのアメリカ人ってどこにでもいるもので、
毎年この時期になると
一日中クリスマス・ソングを流してる
ラジオのステーションを、
周りの迷惑顧みず
自分のデスクでボリュームを大にして聞いている同僚いましたよねえ。
クリスマスなんてどうでもいい私は、
最初の1日目はまあいいんだけど、
もう3日目には飽きちゃってて、
ラジオ消してほしいなあ～
と思いつつも
そんなこと言えないに決まってるし
結局クリスマス前日までお付き合いすることに。
この時ばかりは若い子が使ってるでっかい
ヘッドホン
あったらいいなあと思ったりなんかして

とマライヤが最初に歌ったのは1994年のことだったんですね。私がアメリカ来る前じゃん。
他の長年歌われている古いクリスマス・ソングと
比べたら全然新しいけど
この曲のおかげでマライヤは一生安泰なくらい、
クリスマスにはなくてはならない曲になりましたね。
さてさて、
他にどんなクリスマスソングがあるのか
ググっていた時に見つけたのが、
シアトルのアイコン
もクリスマスソング出してました

マックルモアーはラッパーで、
彼の代表作の
"リサイクル・ショップ”や
同性婚を語った”Same Love"
でもわかるように、
彼の歌にはとっても深い意味が込められてるので
このクリスマスソングにも
もしかしたらと思い
