今回の記事執筆は吉川氏。数年前、歴史に残るであろう最悪設計だったアメブロの品質改善、抜本見直しにおいて、ネットワーク分野で中心的に活躍した戦友の一人です。
ロードバランサー(当時、BIG-IP)の負荷高騰でサービス停止が相次いでいた時代、まるで高度なWebアプリのように記載されたBIG-IPのiRuleを、からまった毛糸の塊をひも解くように２人で一行一行削除していったのは、今となっては良い思い出ですね。
この文章を作成している現在、彼は某カンファレンス出席のためアメリカ出張中ですが、そちらの記事はまた次の機会に公開するとして、今回は通常の技術系記事を新規に作成してもらいました。

Good afternoon, folks. I'm M.S.
The blog writer is Yoshikawa-san this time. He is a veteran engineer who changed the poorly-designed Ameblo service to be much better quality. He improved the basic network system dramatically at that time.
Ameblo service used to use iRule, a BIG-IP L7 scripting language, a great deal. However, to use a lot of iRule functions always causes severe performance problems on huge websites. It is a fond memory of mine, when Yoshikawa-san and I got rid of these complex iRules step by step.
He is currently in the U.S. attending one major business conference now, and we'll post that conference report next chance. The following is a new article which he wrote for this blog.
