As you know, the price of SAMMA is skyrocketting.
それでも、やっぱり、
秋になると、サンマが食べたくなる。
これってなんだろうか？
日本人のDNAか？
Even so we still want to have one at least once in autumn.
Is it because of our DNA or what?
サンマ、食べたい。それも、塩焼きが、食べたい。
高い、でも、やっぱり食べたい。
I want Samma, especially the grilled one.
However expensive!
で、エイヤー！買ったぞ。

夕方の２割引きで、約￥４００
一匹￥２００なら、、まあ許せる範囲。
Yesterday I happened to find a pack at relatively reasonable price.
¥499 for two piece.
Around ¥400 after the discount.
Maybe I can afford that．

塩焼きさんま
Hello again samma, its been a long time.
ちょっと細いなあ。
それに、焼いたら腹のところが割れてしまった。
It looks rather thin, and even worse, the belly got split up while cooking.
ひとくちたべてみて、
Never mind. Let's have a bite!
あれー？？
Mm...something is wrong.
さんまとは思えないあっさりした味
あの、独特の脂ののった味がしない…
It doesn’t taste like what I think of Sanma.
It’s so light and plain.
まるで失敗した煮付け魚みたい
Isn’t it like eating a different kind of fish cooked in some wrong way.
なんで？私の焼き方が悪いのか？
Is that because of my poor cooking skills?
旦那も同意見で、こんなんだったらもうさんま食べなくていいや,と。
Mu husband is on the same view, telling me this is not what he wants.
そして、焼いてるときも、煙もそんなに出なかった！
さんまといえば、煙でしょうが！
Actually there was no smoke coming out while cooking.
That’s not what it should be!
とにかく、期待外れでがっかりした.
私も、こんなさんまなら、もういいや。
昔のおいしいさんまの記憶を大事にしまっておく方がいいや。
I was so disappointed that I would rather not buy samma again at such expense.
It would be much better to cherish the memory of having delicious ones back many years ago.

サンマの塩焼き、我が家はもう食べることはなさそうです。
So, I will probably never ever get one again.
Sad that the day has gone when samma was a popular icon in autumn in Japan.

さんまの骨も 焼くとおいしい
高いんだから、骨まで食べないとねー。
PS 味があっさりした を英語でいうと？
Light です。
食べ応えが軽い、という意味です。
ちなみに、反対語は
Heavy
こってりした という意味です。
