I went to the usual farmer’s place again. 

Now broad beans are in season. 

今は

そら豆　が、旬❗️

あ、奥の小松菜は、おまけです。

虫食いなんだって。

えー、全然オッケーです❗️

って、

相変わらず、どっちがおまけか、わからん。

農家さん、太っ腹

The Komatsuna is for free, as it is spoiled by worms, they say. 

Why, such fine komatsuna! 

It’s don’t mind at all. 

ほらあ、立派なそら豆でしょう〜❓

Take a look at the size! 

Even bigger than our pet tortoise, Gin. 

うちのギンさんと、比べてみた　(笑)

わかりにくいから ペットボトル(笑)

早速　食べましよ

Here is my favorite recipe. 

Grilled broad beans. 

私の一番好きな食べ方は、

焼きそら豆

魚焼きグリルで　焦げ目がつくまで焼くだけ

ホックホク〜、で、 美味しい〜❗️

It’s so easy. 

Just grill the beans in the fish griller until the surface gets burnt. 

Yum!  I love it! 

食べきれない分は　さやから出して

塩を降ったり

めんつゆにつけたりしておきます。

これはこれで

ちょいと一品になって、便利。

There was such a lot that I kept the rest in containers. 

One salted and the other marinated in noodle sauce. 

This way I can serve it as a good appetizer, too. 

Eat seasonal food, and stay fit.

PS そら豆を英語でいうと？

Broad beans です。

Broad は、幅が広い　という意味

幅広の豆　というわけですね。
