Guess what I found in the kitchen sink last night!
ヤモリor , A gecko!
Gee! He gave me a real fright.
いや〜、ビビった〜。
ヤモリ
家守 と書いて 縁起が良いと言われてます。
A gecko is said to be a lucky charm in Japan, to bring good luck to the family.
And moreover it eats unpleasant insects such as cockroaches and mosquitoes, which I hate most.
なにしろ 私のだいっキライな
ゴキ 〇〇 や、蚊 を食べてくれる
益虫ですからね。
これは そのまま 家にいていただきたい。
I would rather have him stay in our house.
But it is a little troublesome if he remains in the sink like this.
でも、 シンクに ずっといらっしゃるのは
困る…
Actually I don't really like reptiles except for Gin.
私 爬虫類は苦手です。

So I got a good idea.

これを使って
速やかに 退出していただきました。
I used this scraper.
It worked.
I guided him to get onto it, and then let him out of the sink.
Oh my! It was a thrill.
最初 うまく のっかってくれなくて
触ると
キュッ キュッ
鳴くのね。
ゾワ〜 ってなりました。
At first he wouldn't move as I thought.
And he made strange noise when I tried to touch him.
I would almost cry in panic.
あー… 怖かった〜〜。
ヤモリ 昔 シンガポールに住んでいた頃は
結構普通に 屋内にいたんです。
その時は 割と平気で
網戸の内側から、つついたりして遊んでいました。
もちろん 指で。
まあ、なんでも、慣れですね。
でも、日本では、レアでしょ？
ヤモリなんて、久しぶりに見たから、
かなり ビビりました。
By the way I used to live in Singapore.
Then I saw geckos everywhere and I wasn't so scared of them.
Once I saw one sticking on the window screen, I would even play with it with my own finger.
Now. No way, no!
In Japan we are not used to seeing a gecko inside.
So I got quite freighted by it.
慣れといえば
うら若き乙女の頃は ゴキ〇〇がとにかく怖かったものですが
主婦になってからは
見かけたら すかさず
古新聞で スパーン❗️❗️
といけるようになりました。
ほんと 慣れって怖いです。
On the contrary, today I am no more afraid of cockroaches, which I have hated since I was a young girl.
As a house wife I came to manage to smash one with some old news paper at the sight of it.
Mm, people do change.
しかし、 日本でも、ヤモリ 
地球温暖化 してるなあ 
と感じる出来事でした。
Anyway.
Isn't it unusual to see geckos in Japan ?
I realize it is partly due to global warming.
It was such an interesting experience.
PS No way のいろんな使い方
No way は、絶対ムリ ありえない という ネガテイブな気分の時にも、
マジ？ ウソー！うれしい！ってハイテンションな気分の時にも
どちらでも使えるんです。
