Asus Padfone vs Thomson X-View 2

Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Hp laptop battery

Besides Samsung, a new player that is planning to launch a phablet in IFA Germany is Thomson, the manufacturer of modems and specific infrastructure. The device known as Thomson X-view 2 features dual-SIM capabilities and sports Android 4.0 (possibly Jelly Bean upgrade). The phablet-styled device has 5.3-inch 480 x 800 display, MT6570 chipset 1GHz processor with Adreno 220 graphics, 5-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, 1 GB ROM, microSD support up to 32 GB, 150 x 81 x 10.9 mm dimension, weighs 212g and features 2450 mAh Li-Ion battery such as Compaq Presario V2000 battery (compaq v2000 battery ), Hp pavillion zx5000 battery (Hp zx5000 battery ), Hp PP2200 battery , Hp Pavilion dv2000 battery (Hp dv2000 battery ), Hp HSTNN-LB31 battery , Hp EV088AA battery . The phablet will reportedly hit French shelves later this summer.

Meanwhile, unlocked Asus PadFone is available for sale in US, but is still to reach any carriers. Asus PadFone in itself is a smartphone but also works as a hybrid device when connected to tablet dock and keyboard dock accessories. The PadFone is apparently being sold by grey market retailers at a price of $859.50 for the 16GB model, $959.50 for 32GB, and $1,059.50 for 64GB. The device is sold by Negri Electronics.

The Asus PadFone has 4.3-inch 540 x 960 pixels Super AMOLED display, 1 GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera supporting 1080p, Android OS version 4.0, dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait Qualcomm MSM8260A Snapdragon Adreno 225 processor and Li-Ion 1520 mAh battery giving up to 8 hours of talk time.

The above mentioned specs is almost similar to Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone. However, the area where the device really stands out is its ability to transform instantly into a 10.1-inch Android tablet. The optional PadFone Station features 10.1 inches display, 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, 273 x 176.9 x 13.55 mm dimension, weighs 724 g and has 6600 mAh battery (the PadFone’s tablet and keyboard dock both pack a 7.4V and 24.4Wh battery respectively and each consisting of two 3,300mAh cells in a series).

With several new devices lined up for release, gadget freaks are certainly in for a treat. Sporting big screens and hybrid features, these forthcoming devices will have a fan following of their own. Perhaps, the phablet craze would slowly creep its way to the market and will remain a niche market segment.
