クリスティーナ・ロセッティー（ＣＨＲＩＳＴＩＮＡ ＲＯＳＳＥＴＴＩ 1830-94）の詩は以前ゴブリンマーケットや In the bleak mid-winter の詩で取り上げましたが、BBCの行った英国で好まれる詩のアンケートでは RMEMBER（思い出して） の詩が第11位に選ばれています。
ただし、この詩は少し暗く重たい失恋の詩なので、ここではそれ以前に書かれた初恋の詩とも言うべき明るく快活な 誕生日（A Biethday） の詩を見てみたいと思います。
この詩も英国では好んで読まれる詩の一つです。
A BIRTHDAY

Whose nest is in a water'd shoot;
