A MAD GIRL BLOG END HERE......another journey just begin

As a part of Indonesia culture heirloom since long time ago, Batik has been part of our life even a lifestyle.

From my prevoius entry i have already wrote, there are two kinds of Batik. Mass productions batik or Batik Cap, and Batik Tulis or Batik paintings. The price of Batik Cap from cheap to expensive, depends on the motifs. For Batik Tulis the price quite is expensive. Especially if the motifs only made 1 copy, also the colour, the pattren and fabric are excellant the will be cost billions Rupiah. Although you buy this kind of batik in second hand the price still expensive.

Almost the same with Tartan cloth from Scotland when the colours and the motifs of the cloth can trace from which family its been. In Batik there are also a meaning behind the motifs and it is hope that when we wear it we have aslo the spirit of the meaning.

Because my acknoledgement is limited based on the source that i have. So, i only write 12 motifs. And in every entry there are 4 motifs.

Batik Cuwiri

pita

Cuwiri means small, derived from the word cuwilik-cilik.

People who wear them are expected to be suitable and honored.

Batik Parang Rusak

pita

Parang means weapon(power), parang is kind of short thick blade.

For a person wearing this batik their power will increase.

Batik Kawung

pita

It is a symbol for royal family.

It represents justice and might.

Batik Sido Mukti

pita

Sido Mukti describes wealth, prosperity and happiness.

Usually this motifs is used for wedding especially for Akad Nikah - Ijab Kabul. And the one who wear only the bride. There are also Sido Luhur, for this motif only the parents of the bride and groom who wear that.

Batik ink made from plants, that is why if we want to wash it we used speacial soap.

The soap is from Klerek fruits. Klerak will keep the painting and the cloth still in good conditions although you keep for years. Actually it is quite easy using klerak, we just smash the fruits then put in the water and stir it, and it will be little bit bubbling. The problems not every traditional market sell Klerak fruits.

Nowdays, we can find mass productions Klerak soap in every Batik store.

To think about it. Batik is ECO friendly, right (*゚ー゚*)
