昨夜 "ノッケ" は、昨日行われた第56回グラミー受賞式で「Emmylou Harris」とのデュオ名義最新盤 "Old Yellow Moon" ('13/Nonesuch) が最優秀 "Americana Album" を受賞した、テキサス出身SSW「Rodney Crowell」初リーダー作LP "Ain't Living Long Like This" ('78/Warner Bros. BSK 3228) でスタート〜♪
その「Emmylou」の「The Hot Band」を経てリリースされた本作の録音には、その「The Hot Band」の面々 (「Albert Lee (g)」「Hank DeVito (steel g)」「Emory Gordy, Jr. (b.)」「John Ware (ds/perc)」「Glen D. Hardin (p)」) に加え、「Ry Cooder (g)」「James Burton (g)」「Amos Garrett (g)」「Dr. John (kbd)」「Jim Keltner (ds)」「Hal Blaine (ds)」「Emmylou Harris (vo/g)」「Nicolette Larson (vo)」「Willie Nelson (vo)」などなど書ききれないほど(！)超豪華な猛者たちが大挙参加。

♪～'Voila, An American Dream' (written by Rodney Crowell)
とほかのアーティストへの提供曲の「Rodney」作者ヴァージョンをはじめ (後者での直ぐソレと判る「Amos」の星屑ギター・リックも最高！)、テキサス・フォークやアメリカン・ルーツ・ミュージックをベースにしつつ、やはりモロに「The Beatles」世代 ('50年生) の「Rodney」らしいポップ・センスをも湛えたカントリー・ロック・サウンドが絶妙なナイスSSWアルバム！♪
なかでも、グッと沁み入るこの曲なんて本当たまんないっすね～↓

「GP」への敬意溢れる名曲～！オマージュの最良のカタチやないかと...
個人的にも何かと引っ張り出す頻度の高い "好物" レコードですね～♪
上述のグラミー受賞最新作はリリース当初から気になりつつもスルー状態で未聴. . . (汗)
