2010年の国連人間開発指数によると
フィリピンは世界169ヶ国中97位だった。
この指数は、人々の生活の質や発展度合いを示す指標で
アセアン諸国でフィリピンより上位だったのは
シンガポール27位、ブルネイ37位、マレーシア57位、タイ92位でした。
According to the 2010 UN Human Development Index, the Philippines ranked 97 in 169 countries around the world.
This index is a measure of the rate of development and people's quality of life
The ASEAN countries were higher in the Philippines
Singapore, 27th, 37th Brunei, Malaysia 57th, Thailand was ranked 92.

クリントン元アメリカ大統領のフィリピン来訪に関連して
「各国がフィリピンに対して渡航延期勧告を通達している中で
フィリピンが信任票を得たようなものだ」と語った。
クリントン元大統領は
10日にマニラホテルで開催される会議の来賓として来訪するもので
アキノ大統領との会談は予定されていないという。
