台風ルビー
フィリピン気象庁によると
猛烈な台風ルビー（22号）は
４日午前10時現在、ミンダナオ地方北スリガオ州スリガオ市の
東方860キロの太平洋上にあり、時速20キロで西北西へ進んでいる。

4, 10:00 current, Mindanao provinces North Surigao in Surigao city 860 kilometres east on the Pacific Ocean, heading towards the west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour.

シオニール・ホセ
12月3日は、フィリピン文壇を代表する小説家
文化功労賞（ナショナルアーティスト）受賞者
シオニール・ホセさんの誕生日。
90歳になったホセさんは親日家として知られており
2001年には勲三等瑞宝章を受章した。
フランシスコ・シオニール・ホセさんは
フィリピンルソン島中部平原の小さな町に生まれ
マニラのサント・トーマス大学文学部在籍の頃から小説を書き始めた。
代表作は、「ロサレス物語」で
「ポーオン」「木」「わが弟、処刑」「仮面の群れ」「民衆」の5部からなる大河小説。
これらは1880年代から90年間にわたるフィリピンの魂の記録と言われている。
ホセ氏はフィリピン作家の中で最も多く外国で翻訳されている作家
日本でも「民衆（上・下）」「仮面の群れ」が出版されている。
「民衆」でラモン・マグサイサイ賞文学部門賞受賞。

第15回東京フィルメックスの授賞式が
11月29日、東京・有楽町朝日ホールで行われ
フィリピンから出品されたフランシス・セイビヤー・パション監督による
「クロコダイル」が最優秀作品賞に輝いた。
「クロコダイル」は、フィリピン南部のアグサン州を舞台に
ワニに襲われた娘の遺体を探す母親の姿を描いた、実話に基づく物語。
フィリピンのシネマラヤ映画祭で
最優秀作品賞をはじめ4冠を達成している。
